I was wondering... Has any body ever cut a 1.25" bladeholder?

The reason I ask is; I have an emmiter design that mimics the Prongs in BH style 11, and wanted to know if I cut the sinktube would it.
1.) ruin the bladeholder
2.) still be sturdy enough to hole the blade.

Thanks in advance and I'm sorry I'm so darn cautious when I build these things...

Did you mean BH style 10? Style 11 just has a bunch of holes in it.

As far as cutting a sinktube to mimic that, I don't see why it wouldn't work. That is, if that's what you're asking...

Yes, I meant BH style 11.

as for the sinktube... NO NO NO!!:)

I want to cut the Sinktube BLADEHOLDER. not the sinktube...

im still not 100% clear on what you want to do, but maybe this could help a little. on my first saber, i used the anikan conversion blade holder, but i cut about 1.25 inches off (the upper ring looking thing as seen in the picture of it in the store) and it was okay. so i think that if you are going to cut prongs out of the sides of BH #11, it still would be secure enough as long as you left the overall length of the holder the same, and you used your blade retention screw at .5 to .75 inches up from the bottom (not including the threads of the holder). im not exactly an expert though.

how many prongs are you wanting on it? and are they going to be for the most part symmetrical? how far down are you wanting the prongs to cut down from the top of the blade holder?

Alright I'll try to explain it better;)

I want to cut this- http://www.thecustomsabershop.com/125-Sink-tube-LEDBlade-holder--P269.aspx

overlapping with this- http://www.thecustomsabershop.com/1-14-x-12-Chrome-sink-tube--P83.aspx

With four "castle like" prongs to imitate this- http://www.thecustomsabershop.com/Screw-on-LED-blade-holder-style-10-P292.aspx

But without the slant that the BH 10 has...I hope this helps.:D

My main question is- Will cutting the Bladeholder ruin it???

It'd be easier to cut the 1 1/4" sinktube to match that blade holder instead of cutting the 1 1/4" blade holder to match. All you need to do is recess the blade holder into the 1 1/4" tube. Sinktube is easier to replace if you make a mistake in cutting the crown.

Great idea Jay-gonn, thanks.

It's not really a "slant", it's a "taper".

BH 12 is slanted. ;)

Just have the holder farther back, and cut the tubbing.
