Well , before the rest bring out the flamethrowers, yes it will support all P4, Lux III, K2 and Lux V LEDs out there just like before.

It is a good question since the us2.0 does not offer a P4 option in the menu.

You should be fine using the lux 3 setting.

Thanx Strydur for adding that. I'm just used to members knowing that off the batt(D'oh on me).

Yeah the P4 can be run on the LUX III and LUX III overdrive setting but not RED LUX III setting.

P4 red should probably not be run on Lux III overdrive though.

I believe that's what Kal is saying above. ;)

Nope he said lux III and lux III overdrive can run it, but as long as your run it on regular lux settings it's fine.

I just checked the p4 pdf's some run a max of 800-1000 ma so it all depends on the color.

here is the link to them:

The red Seoul P4 runs a max of 800mA, so it should be run on Lux V, right?

One more question. Do I need a resistor on the accent leds' lines?

The LUX V runs at 6.85 vf, the P4 runs at 3.2 vf MAX. if you wanna see the led go pooof which it will at that setting.

Just use the standard LUX III setting.

no resistor is needed to run the accent leds on the US2.5 board. On the US 2.0-2.1, use this to figure that out. http://led.linear1.org/1led.wiz

I would have thought that the US board only regulates the current, not the voltage. Thus running a Lux III on the Lux V setting would simply be an underpowered Lux III. Am I wrong here?

The Ultrasound boards regulate both the current and the voltage, so running a III on the V setting might not be such a good idea.

Does anybody know the output voltages on the different settings of the US 2.5? Or does anybody know who I can email to get the answer?

They are preset for each LUX combo, check the specs for the LED you are using or want to use. That should be what you're looking for.

I was actually Intending on using a LedEngin Amber. with two dies in parallel and two pair in series. Run at the K2 setting all 4 die should have been powered at 75%, which still would have been bright. But if the voltage is regulated than the K2 setting will only supply about 3.6-4.4 Volts, less than the 5.2 volts my LED needs. Usually, the board simply detects how much voltage is required by the LED and supplies it (assuming it has enough coming in battery-wise), but if the Ultrasound is fixed than it won't. I emailed Liam at Ultrasounds about this after Jay-Gon suggested it may be fixed and his reply is that as far as he knows the settings are not fixed, He is going to get back to me about it. When he does, I will post a definitive answer, one way or another.

The last time I metered one, the voltage was different for each setting, and was close to the specs for the particular led, but maybe they have changed it for the 2.5.

The power management on the board has not fundementally changed. Its been tweaked to be more efficient, but Jay Gon is correct.
