Ok, I've been putting this off long enough...Here are my first few sabers that I've been working on over the past year with a nearly nonexistent budget, everything that I've been learning here, trial & error, and a dremel.

First up is my 1 1/4" sinktube saber with Tim's Lux III kit(green), 1 1/4" sinktube blade holder, coin from Oblivion special edition, replica red graflex button screw for blade retention, 36" thin walled blade.

Sorry for the quality of the pix, some were shot on my girlfriend's camera and some were taken with my iPhone.

All the scratching on front half of saber is due to when I was drilling holes for the blade holder, the dremel jumped and made a gash across the chrome. I decided to turn a mistake into a design element. Gives it a kind of "worms in the wood" feel.
Oh, and the grip piece on the front half of the saber was due to deciding to change the placement of the blade holder and I used the grip piece to hide the old holes.

I want to thank everyone here on these forums for all the information that helped me tremendously.

And lastly I want to show the sabers all together. (http://i636.photobucket.com/albums/uu84/Xoultrain/3rd%20Saber/101_1686.jpg) Plus a MR Luke Ep.VI. (I only have one blade right now.)

I like the use of EL wire. You've actually just inspired me to use that on my girlfriend's saber. 8D

Nice work on all the sabers. Great ob on turning a mistake into a good design on the first one and I like what you did with the EL wire on the other 2. Keep up the good work.

I really like the green on your last design.

Not to many people can pull off bright colors and still have a nice saber

Hey, thanks a lot everyone. I felt that using the EL was sort of a right of passage. It's where saber building started. I wanted the experience of working with the old tech to give me reference of the old school. An homage. Plus it's cheap. While I was going through the gallery looking for inspiration I saw a saber with EL in the grip and thought it looked awesome, wanted to do it. Also while reading Jay-gon Jinn's Second MHS and Hardware Saber (http://forums.thecustomsabershop.com/showthread.php?t=3059) tutorial, I thought it would look cool to wrap the section he put polywashers on, in EL.

Anyway, Thanks a lot for the feedback!!

Hey I like 2 and 3, although that is an interesting use for an Imperial Septim! Never thought of using mine in a saber :D
Good job.

I LOVE EL wrapped hilts. I don't see a lot of pink sabers that I actually like but your girlfriends looks really sweet. One of my best boyfriends once bought me a bunch of hard ware store parts, and some blue EL wire to play with, one of the best gifts I've ever gotten.

Again, though, love the EL wire usage!
