View Full Version : How Star Wars are you?

Since I figured all of us on here are more than just you average casual Star Wars fans, I was wondering how far with being a fan have you gone. What ways does Star Wars come into you every day life?
Here are some examples for me;

~My Indiana state issued plate on my Trans Am reads: IMPERAL (you could only have 7 letters). I went with this because TK-421, and VADER were already taken.

~I have the Imperial symbol on the hatch of my Trans Am.

~To date I have spent more than $5000 over the last 4 years on SW related merchandise

~Every time I’m in any department store, I always have to check out the toy section for new SW merchandise

~The first thing you see when you walk into my house are three SW posters, and then a small sample of my collection including the sabers and some of my favorite figures I have.

~I’m looking to by a new house and one of the requirements is either an extra room or an unfinished basement I can finish off that will be the SW room to display all of my collection.

~I have written articles at work in our daily paper about how some of the philosophies in SW can be used in everyday life.

~Several of my employees refer to me as Darth

~We have to do these little “pep rallies” before each shift starts at work called Buzz Sessions, and I have worn a Darth Vader mask and helmet to conduct them, or had my employees act out scenes from the moves.

~I have said in more than one meeting with my entire staff “Anger leads to hate, hate leads to suffering, the path to the Dark Side are they,” in reference to having an upbeat and positive attitude while at work.

I’m sure there are other things, but these were some of the major ones I could think of. Post up your list, and thanks for looking,

Darth Poo Head

Lord Poo,

George called. He wanted me to tell you to "get a life." [:p] Just kidding. But, seriously, that's cool man. I'm pretty blown away by that. The company rallies with the vader mask is the best. Tell us more. The only cool thing that I can think of off of the top of my head is that my daughter is about 14 mos. old and is already giddy with delight anytime I light up my saber and give her a little show. We're all about star wars, here, but our common bond is that we're pretty stoked about this website and Tim's sabers. Most of us have been looked elsewhere and have settled in here for many reasons. Everyone here has built a saber using Tim's parts or has tentative plans to, at some future date. Money and time usually being the limiting factor. Again, welcome aboard.

LOL, thanks man.
Yea I'm an uber geek in disguise, but is a lot of fun. My gf, that’s her and I in the picture from this past New Years, is cool with it. She claims the Anakin MR saber is hers, and fights me with it. I guess I’m pretty lucky in that aspect. She likes racing cars, plays Halo 2 enough that I bought her own Xbox live account, and doesn’t mind my Star Wars “hobby.”

How "Star Wars" am I?

Not enough to even mention. I build sabers for people, but do not own one myself. I have all the movies, but do not watch them. I do not quote Yoda or even try to impersoante his voice. I do not own any figures, figuringes, busts, statues, posters, mugs, assorted merchandise, etc.

I used to own replicas of all the hilts from ANH but sold them months ago to help finance my divorce. I had a MRFX '05 Mace Windu, but sold it to one of the members here at TCSS.

Basically...I suxx0r.

well, i do have most of the early released figures of the POTF line. the red/orange backers and the green/yellow ones. some deluxe figures. most all of the first runs of the 12 inch figures. i even got the highly prized chewbacca figure in 12 inch. i say that, cuz of the details revolving around this figure. ya see, it was supposed to come out in 96. they prerelased pics of it, and folks hated it so much, they held it back and retooled the figure. and released it in 97 instead. but they used the 96 boxes up first they already had made. those 96 copyrighted boxes with chewy are worth 500 a piece. i got one, and even got peter mayhew, who we all know was chewbacca, to sign it. how cool is that.

i have a few of the higher dollar pieces. they small blistered figures that are worth alot. the sand people guy with the paticular hand position thats worth money, the deluxe speederbike luke and leias, all the lukes i got, 5 of them, all have the screwed up pic on front. making them valueable.

the rubies supreme suit, and all the mods i have done, with a 500 dolar voice system.
all the movies too.
and other star wars stuff too numerous to mention.

so yeah, im a star wars nut, and really to put a finger on it, im just a big sc-fi fan. and horror fan too. i dressed up and made my own freddy kruger mask from a mold from a kit box they sold in wally world. it was the foam piece layed over a clear mold off the actors face withthe mask on him. i threw the foam away, and used liquid latex to pour my own molds right off the clear mold from the kit. i made a full head mask, using a bald head cap, as a base to build it off of. i spirit gumed the face piece on. i even made a shoulder and neck section to the mask. you pulled it on like a divers hood. tucked the shoulder part under the shirt collar.

my life almost revolves around star wars. not a day goes by that i dont use about an hour worth of quotes. my room is wall to wall with figures, posters, and everything else star wars. i have a large suction-cup sign with the millenium falcon on it in the back window of my car that says "my other transport is the millenium falcon". i make it a point to wear my jedi costume every chance i get. I made it into my high schools senoir video reenacting the battle between obiwan and vader with a freind in the main hallway of the school. i have a very large star destroyer hanging from my ceiling and a big AT-AT posing infront of my closet. i guess you could say its people like me that are the reason lucas keeps remastering his work because if its new , and its star wars , its mine. :)

Threepio: Artoo suggests that if you remove the restraining bolt, he might be able to play back the entire recording. Luke: Do I look that stupid?

Nice coins Dacota.

Why does Obi-wan appear to have a scabbard hanging from his belt? Weird.

I have an anakin mr, two of the 8 dollar target sabers, the 'ultimate' saber, an ultra, light initiate, newly released, youngling saber, on order, 4 out of 5 of the movies, both clone wars, and will have the r2 interactive soon....

I found something both me and my 3 year old son can have fun with together...

I used to pick up my guitar first thing when getting home from work. Now I pick up my light saber. :D

actually obi on right anakin on left,it is actually the leather flaps that hangs as part of anakins costume but it does look wierd.they do not look like obi or anakin,i think that the reason they look like people from greek or roman coins and why the sabers look like swords is becuase i think that it is some prophecy that shows that this battle between obi and anakin is destined to happen.and maybe when jedi first existed maybe it was in roman times and they had swords not sabers, pretty interesting.

Hmmm where shall I begin.
I have every Star Wars novel up to date.
I own every Force Fx ligtsaber meaning all of the first release, first generation sabers. I prebought almost all of them.
I have a whole room in my house dedicated to Star Wars with about 30 posters and all of the Star Wars magazines and books and toys and models I have ever seen. I just completed my first luxeon saber and I have started on my second. By the way this website is by far the most awesome ever invented and I visit it at least 5 times a week.
I aquired a complete set of Jedi robes for the premeire of EP III and waited in line for 6 hours to see it. Oh and I waited 7 hours for EP II. I didnt have my license when EP I came out :( Thats a brief summary of my addiction. I have to get to my Star Wars Anonymous meeting.

Join me, and together we will construct a new lightsaber.

Ok where to start... I have 4 posters, to many figures to count, 4 MR sabers, 3 of which are converted, 4 $8 sabers, 3 hasbro sabers, episodes 1,2 and 3 on dvd with the coin from target, I've got the original trilogy box set with the fourth disc, an awesome costume made by my dad, and I own Jedi Knight II, Jedi Academy, Battlefront I and II, episode III game, Clone Wars, Republic commando and KotoR.
Plus I have almost every book from the obi-wan apprentice series.
I also practice my saber techniques just about every day, and I play the Darth Vader theme on Bass as well as the luke song on tatooine.[:D]

I got most of the Unleashed Figures, away too many Star Wars Legos, Action figures hanging on my wall, episodes 1, 2 and 3 on DVD with the coin from target and the bonus DVD from Wal-Mart, and the original trilogy box set with the fourth disc. All of the Hasbro toy lightsabers, the Slurpie Cups From 7-11 with the Vader top, Jedi Knight II, Jedi Academy, Battlefront I and II, Episode III game, Clone Wars, KotoR 1 and 2, the Star Wars Lego video game, Bounty Hunter, Jedi Power Battles, Episode 1 game, Starfigter and Jedi Starfigter. Some cup from Burger King and Taco Bell (only from episode 1 and 3), some posters and t-shirts.

I plan to get the new original trilogy box set (the set with the movies are unedited, like they were back in the day).

That's all I can think of right now.

Some walk on the Path of Light
Some walk on the Path of Dark

I shall walk both Paths.

I'm basically a Sci-Fi fan. Regardless if it's Star Wars, Battlestar Galactica, Space 1999, Star Trek, etc etc etc. It does not matter really.

I am a collector of Sci-Fi die-cast and other related stuff. Here are some examples:

-Space 1999 Eagles transports (die-cast versions) - complete set.
-Star Wars stuff (Tie-Fighters, X-Wings, Advanced Fighters, etc).
-Battlestar Galactica - both versions (Battlestars, Basestars, Vipers, Raiders, etc etc).
-MRFX Lightsabers - complete set.
-Lost in Space stuff (Robots, Jupiter 2, etc)
-The Terminator (Endoskeletons, busts, etc).
-WWII fighter aircraft (die-cast).
-Modern fighter aircraft (die-cast).

I have more Sci-fi stuff than I can display. I need a bigger house... ;-)

How Star Wars am I? Not very.
I've always been a sci-fi fan, but mostly Star Trek. I don't own any star wars stuff except my do-clo saber. I've seen the original trilogy less than a half-dozen times, TPM once and only bits of AOTC and ROTS. I've seen more of fan films than of official films.
But... I am a fan of the games, especially KOTOR (1 and 2) and and I like swords and robes (medieval history and re-enactment fan) and magical powers (fantasy fan too) And Jedi combine all those interests.

If you're looking for 'other' pics of me you're on the wrong website!!!! Lol!!!!

Once I can figure out how to upload my pics without faffing it up (my usual trick with anything computer related) the whole world can bask in the glory of my dedication to george's lil galaxy...or not....

Am getting KNIGHT added next thurs (yay my Birthday!!!), So at the next convenient and sober time after that i'll post them.

Yeah, but i'm kinda shoddy when it comes to using/abusing computers.

Throw in the fact i'm assistant manager of an Electronics store, and there's very little hope for me!!!

I can just about build my sabers with Tim's basic kit, so why i'm trying to add one of plecters crystal control cores to it, I don't know!!!

Think I can figure out uploading pics, but since i'm getting my Aurebesh tattoo finished next week, I may as well post them all at once. Shear laziness on my part really. :D

So you can have total control of the saber and have fully customizable sound?

MMMMM...........
Crystal core thingamy.......

You can total control light and sound effects for it, was thinking of maybe swapping the sounds abit. You know, putting chicken sounds or something like that onto the SD card that goes onto core..... How weird would that be?

Snap-hiss becomes ****-a Doodle DOO!!!!!

Star Wars is very important to my family, it actually saved my brother's life, so I collect everything that I can to remind me of that. If he hadn't been with me to see ROTJ, he would have died in a fiery car crash with his friends on I-70 that night.

Wow Morbius!

You could really give alot of us a run for our money with collections!!!

Probably have 1/2 of your size, maybe less now i've scaled down.

Not all Twi'lek women are hot though!!! Some of the ones in the background of eps II & III were kinda average. (Yes, i'm aware one was George's lil girl)

As i've already said, Tattoos (pics coming soon)

And I'll be naming my kids from the saga.

Girl = Aayla Ellen (Ellen after my nan, not the Tv star)

Boy = Ben

Twins = Jacen & Jaina (if one of each)

Lets not forget, we're all just showing our enthusiasm for the greatest saga ever together, so lets not get this going as a competition, it's just a bit of fun!!

Thanks for the kind words friends.

Most of my collection is stuff that I've picked up over the years. Friends and family are mostly to blame for a hefty chunk of it. Seems like everyone knows my love of all things star wars, and someone is always giving me something.

At some point I may even cash in some of the stuff for my new Star Wars inspired addiction..."modified flashlights"

It's not that I hate Jar Jar as a character really. I suppose it's more along the lines of the script choices and the annoying goofiness. In a way, Jar Jar has actually grown on me a bit. I actually cheered in the theater when Jar Jar only had one line in ROTS. Several people actually chuckled along.

As for the Twi'lek women. I really didn't mean to imply ALL were hot. I agree that some of them would make me consider dating a cannok in their stead. :)

Hi all.
I don't collect any official Star Wars figures, pictures, models, comics or anything like that. I have all the movies (including DVDs of the OT made from those old laser disks, before the OT was released on DVD). I mainly collect custom props, lightsabers in particular.

I'm a member of the 501st and soon to be with the Rebel Legion once I get pics of my Jedi outfit. I have an Imperial uniform and I'm working on a custom Mandalorian styled outfit too.

I suppose the one thing that I can say that is somewhat unique about my involvement with all things Star Wars is I have a job where I get paid to design custom lightsaber parts. Only a handfull of folks can say that. I get paid to fly to places like L.A. and go to conventions and play with lightsabers, talk to other fans and generally promote TCSS, expenses paid.

- I have an almost complete collection of star wars lego
- attended all three prequels in costume
- have been held a gunpoint by police for dueling with hasbro sabers at 2 am
- turned down a hot date for dueling
- worn my hilt in public with my street clothes

but by far the cop thing was the weirdest thing ever.

I've done the hasbro duelling with skateboards in a multi-storey carpark at about 2am too!!! Though the cops here just drove around us, saw we weren't making a mess or excessive noise & drove off! One looked like he really wanted a go!!! 8)

You can judge a mans mettle by his ability to joust whilst very VERY drunk, on a skateboard, lightsaber in hand.

A friend of mine was held at gunpoint cause him and his G/F were arguing then they got a tad bit shovy. then they both fell on the ground then they got all laughey and tickley.

Then all of a sudden a cop shows up and puts the guy at gunpoint.

It was all just a big misunderstanding and the cop was so mad. it was like his 4th day on the job and he thought he had a coller.
