I made the hilt for my Barriss costume and did not put a blade into it. The ID is 1.5 and it flares at the opening to 1.75". I would like to add a blade to it and have the blade removable. There are acorns at the end holding the one end on so we can still get inside. Is this going to be an impossible or next to impossible task for one who has not ever done this before? I also would like to have the blade less than 40 inches so I need to know if they come shorter.
this novice appreciates any guidance available :)

A 1.5" ID is relativly normal. If you can fit the blade holder sold here then that's quite easy, it's made for a 1.5" OD sinktube so it may be be a bit too small. The blades certainly can be smaller, you just cut them smaller.[;)]

Welcome. You can order completed blades from 24 inches on up. I use the 34 to 36 inch range myself. You can also order all the parts and build the blade to the exact length you want. I am sure there is a blade holder/LED holder that could fit, you might want to e-mail Tim and see if he could make something up for you custom.
