What is a good material for the screws to be used on a saber? I find at places like Home depot the screws are usually stainless steel. Will this be ok or do they need to be aluminum to avoid corrosion?
I dont think aluminum would work good.. may be too soft for hard conditions..

I prefer steel thumbscrews, if you're asking about Blade Retention screws. I've seen aluminum screws get stripped and bent, even ones used in aluminum hilts. I think stronger material for screws is better.
I've been using steel screws in aluminum hilts for years and have yet to see any galvanic corrosion occur.
