quick question on 616 and voltage regulator

Hey all, I'm wiring up a 616 with a 5v regulator, I was wondering if anyone remembered if the center prong needed to be wired to anything, I think it's a ground but I can't for the life of me remember if wiring it back to the battery negative is what I want to do here.

The center pin of a 7805 5 volt regulater is connected to ground (B-)

now I feel like an idiot, but by B- I'm assuming you mean battery negative?
