Does anyone know how to "unroll" a 3-d part design in SolidWorks so that you can print it out and then roll it around sinktube to trace the design out?

nah man i dont miev4 is teaching us autodesk inventor but i dont know about your prog

Solidworks is another CAD type program I believe. Sorry, no help there. I don't even know how to do that in AutoCAD... I'll post a tutorial for AutoCAD when I get out of school. It has some neat things to it I like.
