Mine and my bros sabers. Sorry it took so long to post pics. I used a green LUXI and my bros is red from ledsupply.com and a TCSS thin walled blade 1". The switch is from RadioShack but i'm going to buy two replacement switches from TCSS so we don't have to deal with the glue on the hilt. What do you guys think? Sorry too for the low quality pics. And no bashing because I know these didnt turn out that well. lol. I'm going to make a few more but using LUXIII leds with heatsink. I'm doing a blue curved hilt next. :]

Thanks for the comments everyone. I'll do better next time. I'm going to be doing a curved hilt in a few months. Blue luxeon 3, resistor powered, 32 inch TCSS 1" battle blade, and a copper heatsink. I already got my curved hilt design printed out, stuff from lowes. What do you think of a blue curved hilt though?

Good looking PVC sabers. I am looking forward to seeing the curved one.

Cool. From what I can tell you are using the same switch we use on our PVC's that we have on the 'bay. You should wire 'em up for light, gives a great effect. Question: Why would you have to glue the switch in?

Those should still be brighter even though they are Lux I. How are you powering it? Batteries and resistor? Do you have any optics? Diffuser?

Honestly, I think the bottom of the hilt could use a little something. O-rings maybe? T-grips or some kind of length-wise grips? Or even a quick sinktube overlay. It's just a little plain down there and could use a little something to break up smooth lines a bit.

on what, my pvc saber or my mhs? i don't think i'd be able to add sink tube overlay. i got a cool idea for my mhs saber though. prolly get a sink tube bigger than the mhs hilt, then paint it black and cut out like the top half into a curve then cut some of the bottom off so you can still see the pommel. any suggestions for paint that works on metal like sink tubes?

Don't paint your overlay before you cut it.

Your MHS. And what you're describing sounds pretty much like an overlay to me =D

You don't do sink tube overlays on PVC sabers, anyway. :p

i think i just might leave the mhs saber how it is. i want it to be my sith saber! :p the new design i had with pommel style 7 looked more sith. i might think of something though. what size of a sink tube would you say to get if i wanted to do overlay?

MHS= 1.5" 22 gauge sinktube.

Tim sells it at his store!!!

Yes, Tim does sell them here. You're better off buying it here, because you know it will be in perfect condition, no scratches or dents.

If you went to Lowe's or Home Depot, you might have to look through and entire box to find one that's not dented, if you even can. But they will probably all be scratched, if they don't have a protective film over them.

The outside diameters of the MHS parts were specifically designed so that a sink tube can slide over them to make an overlay. ;)

You didn't answer Vargose's question. Those sabers should be a whole lot brighter than that. What's up?

Just to give you an idea of how bright they should be, here's a picture of some of my sabers.

http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2005-12/1126239/Collection_2.JPG

From left to right: White Seoul P4 with yellow filter, royal blue Lux III, green Lux I, blue Lux I, red Lux I, green Lux I.

The red is using a crummy pex type blade that didn't work well. Everything else has thickwall blades with Corbin film. As you can see, your Lux I's should be way brighter than they are.

Well, I know he used the wrong resistors, and he's got half a roll of gift wrap in each blade, instead of just 4-6 feet.

In that case, these sabers can be salvaged. Just put the correct resistor in there and the correct amount of gift wrap and you'll be good.

How did he get a Half of a roll in there?!?! I can barely get 3feet.
