I don't even know what a long board is.

To me, it's a surf board, but I don't think that's what you're talking about. :p

you could do an El sheet on the bottom I bet. maybe Jlo will confirm this. but it would be cool to have a whole EL sheet on the bottom of a board

That is pretty cool... you could use the auto LED strip stuff like Kal said, and then you could cut a poly-c blade in half down the middle (long way) into two half-tubes and mount the strips in them on the underside of the board. That guy in the video came really close to scraping the light strip off a few times. If the were covered in the poly-c half tubes they would prolly last longer. They would be like the olds school plastic rails that used to come on skateboards. Granted, they were the first things we all removed from the board... but if they lit up they would have been a lot cooler :)

im going to machine some housings for the bottom of my board to hold the batteries and the color randomizer. heres why!: i found a really nice kit at car toys you probably know about it. there color changing LED lightbars. a kit is 34$ and comes with 2 12" bars. so im going to get two of those and then the color randomizer box. it all needs to run off of 12 volts and 3 amps.

any ideas?

why not just use EL wire? You could just machine or router a small groove around the edge your deck and tuck and glue the wire into it. it would sit flush, and you could get really tricky by putting some kind of protective film over the lights which would probably diffuse it too. Talk to a kid into wood work, maybe you can just trade some work.

OOOOH, I thought of something. Take a bunch of accent leds and mount them to the board, then connect them to say a ani ep 3 mr/hasblow board, then whenevr you go over a bump the lights would flicker(you wouldn't need a speak obviously).

interesting.... but no. ive decided to go with the car toys LED set up that has multiple LED pulse settings. there pretty cool. Kal also pointed out to me a special 12 volt battery that gives off like 14 amps... for use in a computer i think... kal what was it again?
