Redneck fishing lightsaber V202 by Rhyen Skytracker

Hey y'all. Here is the redneck lightsaber I have been working on. I still have work to do on the hilt, but it is mainly finished. This lightsaber is a fully functional fishing pole. So, not only can you catch fish with it, but you can also scale and fillet the fish with the saber. Just kidding. But it is very nice for night time fishing when you need a light just turn on the saber. I mounted 2 line guides on the saber, one just below the emitter and the other one in the top of the blade tip. It also has an illuminated anti vandal switch in the pommel. I am using a CREE green LED and a economy hasbro sound card. I am going to take pictures of me fishing with it later on. I can't wait to hit the lake with my saber, wait......that just doesn't sound right. lol

Wow.... I mean...
It's kinda humorous and innovative. Would work pretty well for night fishing I think, although I suspect you might want to think about removing the sound card (or at least having an off switch somewhere) so you don't scare the fish away! Good attempt (a tad nonfunctional in terms of things like rod flex / action), but I'm sure it would still be able to effectively catch and reel in small fish. It would be kinda cool to have a real lightsaber blade handy to fillet the fish after you catch it though :)

Yes....yes I did. They don't call me the redneck Jedi for nothing. lol The reel is mounted to the hilt with 8-32 screws, so it is not going anywhere.

Thanks. It is a custom pommel. I wanted a pommel that I could put the anti vandal switch in and that is what I came up with. Maybe Tim could start making them if enough people are interested.

Very nice work though. Are you bringing it to DragonCon this year?
I don't fish, but, I do like the beer can holder idea though. Maybe on your next build. Create a whole Redneck series. The possibilities are endless.

1. Make one with plaid, flannel wrapping.
2. Saber w/ trailer hitch.
3. Saber w/ hunting scope.
4. Put bumber stickers on it (NRA, I'd rather be fishing, etc)

just make sure your set screw is tight on the cast or youre minus 1 blade :)
