Hi Guys

http://i951.photobucket.com/albums/ad354/invisas/DSC02211.jpg

Picked this up off e-bay so I'd at least have a TCSS Saber. WoW. The build quality of this stuff is something else, just seeing it the store doen't give the items justice. The macineing is spot on.

If only it was easier to get this stuff in the UK.

All I've got to do is customise it a bit and add the vader board I have and maybe cahnge the green lux for an amber and it'll look ok and sound the part.

Tim/Strydur Hats off to you my saber building friend.

£80 for that. Good price. Not that I was watching that one or anything....

Was looking at throwing a White K2 in there myself.

Nah I got it for £50.00 I bartered with the guy selling it. How come you were watching it, wouldn't you have had to pay duty on it? Wouldn't you have got it cheaper from the states?

No, the guy was in Yorkshire, right?

Was gonna grab it for my bro, but we've settled on a final design for his hilt, so we left it.

I don't know what knid of name you were wanting but
Diripio was what it looked like. it means "to plunder, lay waste, devestate. using an Amber blade would add to that name.;)

I think I´ve seen something similar before... Ah, my MHS lightsaber-in-progress!! :D

And it has an amber Lux III (newest shot on the left, as you can imagine):

Talk about coincidence! :D

That's exactly why I like to make sinktube sabers more than MHS.

No sinktube saber is exactly the same.

Well i'm going to do a copper tube jay gon style and use a home made qui gon jinn template, to do the cut out.

Just want it to look a little different. Might even leave the green as it's quite bright and would go with the qui gon look.

Flip through the gallery, MHS Saber section... You will see some that are similar, and some that are just off the hook with custom goodness. It all depends on how you use the MHS system. You could make them identical, or you could make something that others would be hard pressed to replicate. MHS parts are fantastic, they can stand alone as a really nice saber, or serve as canvas to a severely custom piece.

Hey All.

Just posting an update on nameless. Did the dremel work on the shroud for this build, not 100% so I'm going to file it a bit more.

Wasn't happy with the location of the blade holder either so I improvised, drilled a few holes and pretty happy with the result.

So. Enjoy

Cheers for all the comments peeps.

I've had a go at Tsukamaki wrapping as part of how my final look is going to be for this saber. I used black shoe lace as a test to see how easily it can be done. Unfortunately it is too soft so it's not neat enough. I've got better material which I will use and this will look much better.

Like to hear your thoughts

Enjoy

Looks neat, on the tuskamaki did you use hishigami (little paper triangles)? Hishigami helps quite abit on the angle folding. Also to keep the ito taught, you could use clamps to hold the previous folds down.

As it was apractice I didn't use the triangles. If the look is not good enough when I do it properly I will.

Is it just a case of cutting small triangles out of some card or something similar?

Yep, just some construction paper or some paper with some riddigity to it. then When you make the folds you stick it in so it keeps a good shape, mabye use some glue to make it more sturdy.

Hi All

Been working on this for a few weeks plus waiting for bits and bobs to arrive from TCSS.

Introducing Nameless:

Lux 3 Green
MR Vader sound
TCSS on/off switch and bezel
TCSS Speaker/Battery combo (these things are awesome)
Blade Holder 5 (customised to allow the light from the led to come through)
MHS Ribbed Extension
5in Double female
Pommel style 4 and insert style 1
Custom Shroud
Tsukamaki Wrap (done by myself, now I have sore thumbs)

The final pics.

For my first build (and I'm no saber smith), I'm well pleased with how this has turned out.

Big thanks to everyone who had provided info in these forums, without you, I'd never have been able to do this. Oh and TCSS for the parts.

Looks good, interesting design with the overlay and wrapping.
By the way, you might want to adjust your sig so the picture isn't horizontally stretched.
Great job on the saber!

Cheers. I really like the idea of something of a samurai sword to it and love shrouds so why not do both eh?

I stretched the sig so I could get the quote in without the sig being too big

Hi All. It's been a while since I "completed" this saber but truth be told it never felt completed to me. Main reason was I really wanted to do a Qui-Gon style shroud and what I ended up with was well........

So I have been working on it over the weekend, testing out some weathering and updating the so called shroud.

So here are some shots of my work thus far (less electrics).

Here you can see the original shroud next to the new shroud

http://i951.photobucket.com/albums/ad354/invisas/Build%20thread%20to%20nameless%20update/photo11.jpg

Here are some shots with the weathering and hilt in one piece.

And the reverse of the saber with new CT wheel and thumb screws.

http://i951.photobucket.com/albums/ad354/invisas/Build%20thread%20to%20nameless%20update/photo14.jpg

All in all pleased with how the shroud turned out, more pics to follow once I have really completed this saber..... finally.
