TOR Jedi Lightsaber

Okay i didnt want to post it and keep it all to myself until someone else found it. but i figured hey thats selfish. heres a musch more detailed and easier to discern detail photo of that jedi dudes lightsaber... LDM i want to see this one in the gallery by tomorow 3 PM got it? you to wade ;). Lets have a contest. :D

I lost access to the mill I was using but I will try to do as much as I can with my lathe. That would be a good contest saber to make.

i dont think it would be that hard to machine actually. youd need to use some overlays... but alot of those accents you can use socket head screws and stuff. and then a small brass wire.. graflex glass eye, and the anakin ROTS copper button thats located beneath the gun sight.. im thinkin maybe a joe jedi pommel... TCSS activation box, and then 1" solid brass stock wth a small hole for wires. this would really look cool. im going to make this one next year...

seems like they made the 'rolling on the ground scene' just so some fan would build it.
I think you could get the basic shape of it with MHS parts.

I was just trying to be helpful. I didn't mean to imply that the pic you posted was bad, just not as good at the frames in the HD version of the trailer. *shrugs* To each their own.

oh no dude i know you were just trying to help. :D. i was just saying if i had a choice i woulg go with mine. the backgroung in your pictures kinda blends the saber hilt in making harder to see. im anxious to see what you come up with ARKM. let me know if you come up with a machinists draft. id like to see it if you want to share.

Machinists draft? I just work with graph paper. My blueprints probably aren't up to snuff for that sort of thing. Anywho, the pics and videos are it. I'm not making this saber (even though I could... and it would ROCK! ;) ). I'm just providing data for those that are.

Ok here it is. I biased this off the Jedi saber we all saw and loved. It's not an exact I like to add my own stuff and make it mine. I love this saber.

The one thing that turns me away from this saber is the BIG GAWDY BOX on the hilt!!!! Why would you use one with a clamp???

It is like smooth saber, nice curves, then BOX im the middle!!!

I am not a big fan of the boxes either. They get in the way when dueling.

Rhyen, impressive work in progress on that hilt... Very nice! :-)

As for the boxes, some designs won´t turn out well without one, IMHO. I usually tend to have the box on my Anakin ROTS a little lower than my thumb, opposite direction from my palm, and feel comfortable like that. A matter of ergonomics, I presume :-P
