I bought the conversion kit from the store a while back and did the conversion. It was just a basic conversion but I used a blue LED (P4) and put a joe jedi pommel on it.
I bought some copper translucent powder and decided to try using it on the blade holder and change the led out while I was at it because I wanted to try the cree xre blue.
The powder coating came out really nice though I really need to get some pics with better lighting. It doesn't show up as nice in these pics.
It does look a little off since you expect it to be black but I think its growing on me. I can always sand blast it off and powder it flat black later if I just cant get used to it. Its my son's anyway and he is 2 so I imagine he will have it chipped up and such in no time lol.
The color (copper and the blue led) is really nice though whether it belongs on the Yoda or not. I had to do two coats to get the even coating I wanted.
on with the pics.
First I polished the blade holder. I didnt sand it or anything...just ran it over my polisher. I bought a bench mount polisher and its much easier to use than the die grinder.

then I did the powder coating...

These little sabers are really fun after conversion. It is by far my favorite MR saber. My son just doesnt let me play with it enough lol. Of course he just likes to take the blade off and run around shining the light on the wall. Its just an expensive blue flashlight to him
