ok heres a tip if u cant seem to get the blade/LED holder in the vader, try this: Grab ur mallet (a rubber hammer), Go out onto the pavement, get some towels to not damage the bottom, the pound the heck outa that thing. unfortuantely if it was hard for u to put it in, like mine, u will have an extremely hard time to take it out once the LED dies[V]

BTW: I think this has been covered already in that 6 or 7 page vader convertion topic.

But it is good info.[:D]

My GUESS is a bad solder joint. Probably with the switch. (since you should have to cut it off)

You may also want to check the battery pack for damage.

Are you 100% sure you wired the LED correctly? There are ,I believe 8, wires that get saldered together and one that doesn't. Also be aware of the clash sensor attached to the LED board.

And also be sure that the connector is fully inserted into the receptical.

[see i have the seven wires soldered to the poitive and the last wire purple to the negative.i did it the reverse and it did not work. so maybe it could be the clash sensor that is directly plugged to the circuit board.the anakin fx sabers clash sensor is part of the wires that go to the blade and the sensor is inside the stock holder.with the 04 vader the sensor is plugged in to the circuit board.

Does your wiring colors match up to the below picture?

http://www.thecustomsabershop.com/sabers/scripts/05vader/18.jpg

If the colors do then you have a wiring problem which you need to correct. Just follow the picture for the proper wiring. This is from Tim's Vader conversion.

If the colors are different then you need a multimeter to check each wire to see if it is poistive or ground.

You already know that is is wired incorrectly or it wouldn't act like that. You need a multimeter to check eacy wire to determine if it is positve or negative, use the volts setting to measure it. Sorry that is the best I can do because your board is not in front me.

What's with the Caps?

And what's with the "[" in front of every one of your posts?

Take a pic, (a good pic) or draw a photoshop wireing diagram of how you have this wired. It will help us brainstorm.

If you need help posting he pics, there is a pic-posting topic that should help.

I think you can now load them directly onto this sight, but I have yet to try.

I don't think it will make a difference, you need to meter the wires to find out what is positive and negative.

You can send pictures all day long but without it in front of me I can just guess you must take the time to use a meter and test each individual wire. You must also unwire your current conections and I think you will find that your sound works correctly then. Sorry to tell you this but, THE LED IS WIRED WRONG!

holy smokes... you don't understand cut and paste? How did you even get here to this spot on the internet without knowing something like that?[:0]

Highlight what you want with your mouse. Now do control + c (assuming you are on a windows computer, otherwice it's the apple logo + c) then move your cursor to the spot you want to paste it. Now press control + v. Done.

So copy and paste out the url of the photo you uploaded and then highlight it. Now press the insert image button on the top bar. It's to the left of the pound sign button. This will insert the "tags" that tell the forum that that link is a photo and will display it properly.

Try cutting the Brown wire...

If that fixes it, that is supposed to be for the Clash sensor.

According to this pic.
http://www.thecustomsabershop.com/sabers/scripts/05vader/18.jpg

Edit: You know what...

Just cut ALL the "+" wires and reconnect them one at a time. (Just by holding them together) Then you will know for sure what wire is the problem.

And while you're at it you should also be able to find out if one of them is for the clash sensor.

P.S. Also, each of the wires there (that actually go to the LEDs) are each for a "Bank" of LEDs in the MR Blade. Any one of those should have enough power to adequately light your LED.
So if all else fails, just solder the first one that works and leave the rest.

well i done my first one a lil while back, and mine turned out sweet. i realyy like it. i may just get another to do up on my personal MR vader esb im holdion onto. the one i converted already im takin along to the con in june to try and sell. maybe even the great saber too if i get those darn claws cut out and installed.

got claws cut out. i got a grinder on the way from ebay to even them all up. then i also am getting some special aluminum welding rods you use a butane torch on to weld with. i am gonna weld them on the collar part. i have 36 years experience in welding. learned when i was 10 years old. until 5 years ago, thats the only jobs i ever done was welding. so this should be a breeze.
