I've got a couple of different options I'm trying to decide on, so lemme know what you think.

Option 1

Total Length is a massive 49.61 inches, without the blade. This is definitely going to require forward sound, but I'm not sure how well it will work with a choke 3, or if the choke could be modified to allow sound to escape without ruining the look.

Option 2

Total length is just over 50 inches, again before the blade. This one would make use of the double male w/slots to create a sound chamber further back on the saber, but it loses some of that streamlined look. Also, even though the fluted section is slightly off color (due to my less than stellar photoshop skills), it would be the same black as the rest of the saber, but with the gold flutes.

I like the 2nd one the best. Both of them look good, but I really like the second one best. Can't wait to see it finished.

You don't need to use TCSS MHS parts for the entire thing (unless you really want to). Here's one I found in a another forum. It's made from TCSS parts.

Demens, if you really want to go full MHS, i'd go with option 2.

Personally, I wouldn't want it all streamlined, it needs afew 'pokey-out' bits to give it grip and character.

Forward sound would be good, and I personally wouldn't have it coming out of the choke, maybe just behind it on the grooved section.

the more joints you have the more trouble you are going to have. particuarly with some thing at that length.

i am working with a friend of mine on doing up some moulds for the grips so i can cast them out of impact resin or a 85. urethain. i am just hoping that i can get the original cad designs. it will save me from having to draw them again.

both look great dude but i would go with one full length of pipe for the most part of the body and screw/rivet brass rings down the body. just use TCSS parts for the top.

I prefer option 1 I think - ultimately though, I agree that as much as possible should be a single piece, for strength. I also tend to think that it's a bit too short - how long would the blade be? Your average pike is around 10-20 feet long, and the advantage they have is purely ranged-melee. Something more spear sized (sorry, I know this is semantics now) at 6-7 feet I think including blade length of about 1.5'-2' would be ideal and still a very versatile weapon, up close and from a bit of a distance. If it was an ordinary lightsaber with a removeable shaft which screws onto the pommel and has a beam length adjuster (or two seperate blades ;) ) that would be doubly awesome
