I looked first, and unless I over looked it somehow.

So here it is,

I was wondering, what angle are some of you using for your LED ?

5 degree ? 10 degree ?
or other.

Well, since there is only 5 and 10 available from the store most would be using that. If you mean does anyone have a preferance of one over the other... probably not. The difference is tiny if noticable at all. There is a topic about how they look in the FAQ and Index.[;)]

<center>Read the FAQ (http://www.thecustomsabershop.com/sabers/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=552) or x-wing won't be happy. :(
Before posting did you check the Thread Index (http://www.thecustomsabershop.com/sabers/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=577)?.

Like xwing said, it's kind of a whatever deal. The difference beyween them for what we do is irrelevent. I have used both now and to be frank I can't tell a which one is which set in a hilt with the blade installed, I'm guessing it would be a bigger deal as a flahlight/spotlight situation or if your looking to make an eight foot bladehttp://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e370/Dadof3/stormTrooper.gif

There is a difference, and it's significant!

The 10 degree makes for a better flashlight [:D]

Ultra,

I know that you also sell sabers, so I didnt know if that is information you share or keep, for keep close at hand due to selling them.

I have heard that 6 degrees is a good angle to try and achieve. I found recently , maybe on here a comparison of the different angles in the blade.

I personally like 5 degree.... I'm all for odd numbers, look at the emitter post and see which ones I picked... LOL
I dunno something about the 5 I like..

I'm working on making legs for my computer case which is an aspire cube.. But I'm gonna buy some Led's here and Probably a tube and cut them down and put the Led's on the bottom of the case and put the PC over for legs.. We'll see...

When I figure out why I like the 5 degree better I'll tell ya.. I know my brother seems to think it gets more light down the tube and makes it somewhat more visible in daylight..

Corbin has that pic posted, but basically it shows that a 6-10 degree optic is ideal. I prefer the 10 degree because, like I said, it makes a better flashlight.
