Original Post

Hello all!

After about 7 months of drooling over custom sabers, I've finally decided to create my first lightsaber. This one will be all MHS, powder coated by Tim. I just ordered my parts and I'll update this thread as I go. Bye!

*EDIT*

Here is the final render:

Uh, ok.

It's not really a "work in progress", IMO, if you don't even have any parts yet, since you have no pics to post, and this is the Gallery section.

Any concept renders or anything to show? If not, I don't see starting this thread as really that necessary at this point.

But whatever.

Okay, after playing with SaberBuilder, MHS SaberBuilder, and Photoshop I created this render:

This will be what the final saber will look like. The powder coating will be done in Sun Gold. I found more pics of that color and I think it'll look nice on the saber.

I've also updated my first post with this render.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, whats the balde clour? If you don't have one in mind I'd say either white seoul p4 with purple filter or yellow filter.

Well, I was thinking green seoul p4, but I bought the quick connector so LED swapping should be easy.

Well, I was thinking green seoul p4, but I bought the quick connector so if I'm right all I have to do is to buy another LED and swapping should be easy.

How long have you been reading here, again?

You'll need another heat sink, nylon screws and QD for each LED you want to be able to swap.

Thanks for clearing that up for me. :)

awesome! that looks really good. allthough i would have taken a little better care of the finish on the alluminum. it looks a little scuffed. ill also say that you DONT need a whole new heatsink, lens, lensholder, nylon screw etc.... to swap out the LED if you use this process:

i just simply take a mill and mill out the wire holes to make slots. that way the wires can just come out the sides. have tim do it and im sure it will be cheaper than buying all that other stuff. im doing it to my friend Zadins MHS that ill probably finish this friday. ill post pics of the heatsink

Needs a shroud, although it's cool by it's self.
