I can't think of a much better place to put it... here's fine.

I am not familiar with Inventor that well. It is a CAD derivative but Iit works quite different. Meiv4 could help since that's what he uses.

As for getting an accurate mock up of the MHS... unless you have one and calipers you're not going to get the dimensions exactly. Tim can't really give those out.

<center>Read the FAQ (http://www.thecustomsabershop.com/sabers/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=552) or x-wing won't be happy. :(
Before posting did you check the Thread Index (http://www.thecustomsabershop.com/sabers/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=577)?

Hi, I use inventor at work and for saber building to ..ha ha ha. It's very diferent from AutoCad but you can do almost anything (3D modeling, assemblies, animations, blueprints, etc) If you want to begin with Inventor you should search for tutorials fist. Please e-mail me if you have any question. I'll be glad to help you. Bye

AUTODESK
Is awsome!!!!!!!! to make basic designs go first to standard part when opening up new. you should get a blank blue screen and to your left you should have a window with multiple drawing options. I just used circles for my lightsaber. draw a circle then dimension it. (you can just hit ctrl D) than after your done with the first circle. right click, finish sketch and you should get a different window ion your left. click extrude and then highlight your circle by clicking on it. then there several option on extrusion along with how long to do it. then when you are done and want to build up. along the top there is small icons. one of them is sketch so you select that and then highlight the face of the part you want to sketch on. and you keep repeating the processes. This is a huge program. i havent even begun to tap its processing power its huge. The best thing is do the tutorials and play around for ten years. then you should know it pretty well.
