Found this on the internet, its a spider man green goblin energy sword. made by hasbro the board layout is similar to their spring action lightsaber boards. No motion sensor though, just clash. And it has about 5-6 different clash sounds. Also it has a flicker effect, its a repeating 3 flicker pattern, but its still kind of nifty.

Here is a youtube video of the board

hmm... very interesting.. do you know if it has the automatic turn off function? (I'm guessing yes)

Yeah it shuts off after about a minute if your not engaging the clash sensor.

That would work well for an ancient, or heavily weathered or damaged saber.

It's definitely neat.
Have you measured the output on that? I've noticed that you can make a flicker off of the cheapo boards by not quite giving your LED enough juice.
Like, a Lux V on a cheapo hasbro flickers the LED in time with the speaker, just because there's a small differential in voltage or current.

Love to hear that when you add it to a hilt. Just wondering what the resonance will make it sound like.

Good find, may have to use that board for an archaic saber.

I have to disagree with you guys...
It is a neat find but I think it doesn't sound like a saber at all.

Just ordered one. Thought it might be cool for a sith saber or something, or Just a non-standard option.

Does anyone know of any other non-starwars sabers out there? This could bring some variety to our economy sounds

If you are interested you should buy one, give hasbro more of a reason to make others like it.

Oh I thought of a new use for it. I am going to run two soundboards and speakers, one economy hasbro, one spiderman, cut the spiderman sensor off and replace with a momentary button for lockup, since the sound effects from the spiderman sound like lockup effects. Then run the led of the spiderman board for the flicker. I am curious to see what the sound will be like blended. Unfotunately im out of speakers so I wont be able to test this for a few days.

ha ha the same comment on youtube and it's still funny.

yeah that's pretty cool. i wonder if you could combine it with the star wars ultimate lightsaber board then you would have 4 sound fonts:!::!::!:

Nice you got one of those soundboards!

I have yet to get mine installed, would definately check out how you get the 2 boards to work together!

Got mine yesterday. Its a pretty solid toy. Pretty sturdy. Kinda makes me sad that I am going to rip its guts out. I threw some batteries in this morning to see how it sounds. I like it. The variety in clash sounds is fun. There are 4 different clash sounds. It has startup and shutdown sounds. I think I like the idle hum better than the hasbro lightsaber idle hum. No swing sound though. It will make for a very unique saber. I am looking forward to making a design that fits it.
