Now that is about the most hilarious review on this game I've ever heard:

That game is one of the reasons I hunted up an old N64 to play again. Yes, it looks like bantha poodoo compared to modern flight games like Ace Combat 6 or H.A.W.X., but damn if it isn't fun hopping into the ol' Incom T-65 and blowing stuff up.

Oh, and the game also gave birth to my favorite series of EU books ever.

You mean the X-Wing: Rogue Squadron series? That was actually based off of the old X-Wing series of games. Michael Stackpole actually took missions from the X-Wing games and put them in his books; it was pretty cool.

they really need to make a new starwars flightsim, and make it easily modable so those of us with the inclanation can add in all the Expanded universe fighters, Imagine flying one of these

The flight sim genre has basically faded away. The last SW sim was X-Wing Alliance, and that was in 2000. (it did, however, have some great modding abilities, like the ones you're talking about)

There are some good Star Wars mods for the PC game "Freelancer". Not sure if that ship is in one of them though.
