Custom work done on a Blade holder No. 13. Custom ribbed double female 4 inch extension and brass shroud.

Let me know what you think. Oh and I will be using a grub screw for the blade holder. I believe you call them a set screw on the site.

Nice design. I'll look forward to seeing it when you finish building it. :)

Great design. That is going to be a great looking saber.

note: if that's an anti vandle switch (the lighted ones from the store) it won't fig like that without some serious modification.

That is a nice design, though I would put some black paint in the "ribs" of the emiter.

thanks for the comments guys.

Sairon i will take that on board and do a manip to see what it will look like. it would help to break up the tip a little.

Darth DevilGuy this is the swich i want to use, is this the one you are refering to? http://www.thecustomsabershop.com/Assets/ProductImages/Picture_018.jpg

is the length of the switch an issue? any help would be great.

thanks again guys

that is a nice looking saber. I like the concept.. of course that might be because it is similar to a design I am working on

An antivandal switch will not work in that location unless its a momentary non iluminated style av switch.

people are telling me the switch wont work but they are not telling me why i need to know why lol. i am new to this and am willing to learn but with a forum that is bogged down with so much stuff it is hard to find answers even with search function.

i am not a simpleton and am more than capable if helped of building one of these but the topic of this switch is somthing of an unnoted one. if some one could please post a link to a thread that explains the issue i am going to have or at least tell me that would be great apreciated. this style of switch is one of the things i am having trouble understanding. with fear of being flamed i have not dared to aske for the answer.

A simple search could tell you that the AV switches are freaking long.

forgive me, i have indeed searched but all i could find was how it had this or that or it had this particular finish, i had trouble finding anything on length

it seemed to work ok on mad hatters saber so i figure it should be much the same as the extention is the same.

surly ther would be shorter ones on the market?

Those switch are too long to fit in the hilt. You really need something to act as a spacer. These work great and look great too. http://www.thecustomsabershop.com/Activation-box-style-4-P415.aspx

A simple search could tell you that the AV switches are freaking long.

And simply saying "an anti vandal switch is to long" in your original post would have been even easier.

And, more specifically, the AV switch is too long to fit into the V-grooved and ribbed extension pieces, because they have a smaller ID than the regular hilt or other double female extensions.

Bugger...and i did like that switch, though i did find an AV switch that was an inch in overall length, though it wasn't an illuminated switchlike i wanted. might just have to get a standard AV switch with a shorter stem.

dose madhatter post here often? i might have to ask him how he got it to work.

Mad hatter is on often in the early hours, and another thing I might recommend would make the saber like this.

Thanks Sairon I might just consider that. I am thinking of having the choke media blasted so I am not sure as to what I will do in the end. Great suggestion though.
