View Full Version : Ordering Different Parts within the MHS

I was wondering if it's possible to order the MHS with different parts to those normally shipped with it? For now, this is only really relevant to pommels, I guess, but I was thinking of when the new emitter designs are released as well. Say I wanted to get the full MHS kit, but with a different pommel and different emitter, would I have to buy them separately, or could I have them replace Emitter 1 and Pommel 1 listed on the site?

Good question! Tim! Paging Strydur to thread.

It could be an option for alternative pommel in a pulldown menu for +$ for pommel 1, 2, etc...

I think he should have an "Electronics Starter Kit"

Including,
-LED
-Resistor thingy
-Heat sink
-Battery holder
-Switch
-Quick change (Optional)
-Blade (all components, unassembled)

Edit:
-LED Lens

Then you can buy any hilt body parts you want and not worry if you forgot to get something for the guts.

Keep the same options (LED Color)

The only thing that would change would be that no hilt body parts would be offered in the Electronics Starter Kit, and the blade would be added.

Then you click on the body parts you want as you would normaly do...

It would save you from trying to click on all the electronic parts you need... Getting them... and realising you forgot the Lens!

Damn the lens! I for got that! See what I mean!!!

I will figure out a better way to handle this..for now just order all of the parts seperately using the MHS starter kit list to make sure you get it all.

It's more than that. There's lens angle, battery holder (AA or AAA), Switch type, etc...

I think that should wait until we get a complete "hilt designer"

You're kind of "Over Thinking" my idea...

Duplicate the MHS Starter kit... Options and all...
Take OUT the body parts... Put IN a blade (kit)...
Then let the customer pick and choose the body parts they want.

It's a "Starter Kit" for a reason.

If they want more options than offered in the kit, THEN they should order it Piece-Mail.

Think of it as the next evolution of the MHS Starter Kit, brought on by the advent of so many body part options.

Say I wanted to build a new saber (and I want to) I could order, for example...

-Electronics Starter Kit
-Pommel style #2
-Ribbed section
-Hilt Syle #1
-Emmiter style #3

There's my new saber... (I have no idea what that would look like...lol)

Simplicity at it's best just print the parts list for the mhs kit then sub the parts you want to change.

The main reason I ask this is because if I want a different pommel and emitter (not counting any extensions like the ribbed piece) I've got to shell out an extra $25.99 at least, assuming the new emitters cost as much as emitter 1, and I'd still have a spare pommel and emitter which I'd never use. Plus the extra shipping, which is rather a lot to the UK.

Is there any way, Strydur, that you'd be able to do me a custom order of the MHS, minus the original emitter and pommel, plus the ones I wanted? Even if it costs extra (as the new pommels are more expensive than pommel 1)?

I would, but I figure that it might be a popular question, so Strydur can answer here for all to see. Unless he dosen't want to, in which case fair enough.

This could probally seem kinda dumb as I may have missed something but what about just ordering each item individually so as to not get the extra pieces you don't want? Tim's kit is the same price as getting the pieces ala-cart so I really don't see why it would be a big deal to just order Hilt, pommel, holder, electronics, etc. Everything that you could want is there ready to be put in your cart and you are off to the races.

That is why I recommended to print the parts list so you know what parts you need to build a saber then just subsitute the pommel and emitter with the ones you want and add the extra parts then just order everything on your list

You are aware that all of the parts are sold seperately in the store also, right?

I like the idea of an Electronics starter kit alot.
Blsade plus all needed electronics, screws, etc.
then
decide which MHS pieces to order for your saber.
Perhaps even a small rebate if you ordered the parts and ELec kit together?

I know I want to do a custom MHS set up and am waiting for the emitters and fem/fem adapter to be in so I can decide on pieces etc.

Reality often interferes with what would otherwise be an idyllic delusion.

just curious, but isnt ordering all the parts seperately more expensive?

Not at all, if you add up all the parts and you look at the kit it is the same price. And don't forget you have to add the allen wrench.

Actually, you're wrong. It's 40 cents cheaper individually. [:)]

Might do it this way, then. I was under the impression that the MHS kit was discounted for being a package. Cheers for the help, guys.

only if you say, order this, and a day later, order that, then a few days after that, orader another part. that would be expensive. but ordering a multitude of different parts at the same time in one shipment, isnt. tim has a flat rate, i believe for ups shipments, unless they reach a certain size or something like that, then its a bit more. i think. dont shoot me if im wrong, but i think thats right.

Yeah, I just did it again. The reason it was more expensive the first time was because I chose the big yellow set of batteries, which really are $20 more expensive. My bad.

Rohgan, you forgot to add the wrench but I think you see where I was going with that.

Just a quick note. Codding for all of the different syles would'nt be that bad. Create a drop down box with the default MHS then have the other options that people need. I think the wiring kit would be a good idea. Right now I do the write down the list and go from there.
