New Contest!!!

This contest is simple.
Get creative and take a picture of yourself or someone else displaying the sites address..thats www.TheCustomSaberShop.com if you arent sure[:D] Keep it tastefull but use your imagination. The picture must clearly show that you are in a public setting and the web address must be clearly displayed.

The winner will be chosen on May 6th. The contest winner will recieve a Luxeon converted Darth Maul dual set color of their choice.

Just a simple snapshot of you doing some creative and fun advertising. We arent going to use it as an ad or display on the store page or anything, just want you guys to get creative and do something fun and imaginative to show off the site, and introduce people to the site and what we love to do .

You can make a sign, and hit the mall? Paint it on your face and hit the bus station? LOL.. Whatever you can come up with..Just keep it PG rated, and use your imagination. The most creative fun way is what we're looking for.

We rely purely on word of mouth. We all love what we do, and tell our friends, thats why this site exists. We just want to see how creative you can be [8D]

lol. This won't be like the contest for the graphic on the front page. This doesnt need to be video, snapshots are sufficiant. Video would be great, but the imagination and originality involved is whats going to count for this one, not the cinematography.

Due to financial restraints I won't be able to enter the idea that I have... but I would take a box of the MHS parts and a blade in a box to the post office.

Have one of the workers there agree to doing the photoshoot... give them the taped box with "http://www.thecustomsabershop.com" on it and get an over the shoulder shot of that, maybe with other customers in view.

Then for a second shot, have the worker rummaging through the opened box (address visible on the opened flap) the worker in obvious delight.

Third shot... piecing the MHS together (prefit of course)

Final shot... Same worker, over-sized black cloak, saber ignited (GiMP or PhotoShop the blade only).

Submit the four shots as one... kinda like a webstrip.

Do the shots HAVE TO be in a public setting? I have an idea that would be PG, yet not appropriate for a public setting, but would be a really creative way to display the sites address...I amy submit it anyways, even if it is not one of my official entries.

Well, the plan today was to get dressed all Jedi like, head over to the Con that is here in town, throw a little advertising to the TCSS with a banner made up and get a few shots with some of the local 501st guys. As we with kids know full well plans change in a heart beat. My youngest managed to pull out her clothes drawer which is part of the base of her bed, craw back under the bed and when she came crawling back out she managed to slice a 3 inch gap down her wrist and arm. As you can imagine, we ended up making a trip to the local hospital for a little Emergency Room visit. Not so long story made shorter, She's fine, all fixed up by the Doctor and Mommy and Daddy are ready to drink dinner[;)] I am not sure whether I'll get over there or not tommorow(or even if they are there tommorow) but I will still work on getting some cool advertising somewhere.

It is a store front on a busy street just no foot traffic. I turned about 100 heads setting this shot up and was asked if this was a prank or if I was going to open this store ... I told them to check out the website. Let me dream and New England people are nice they try to stay out of shots like this.

Hmm... what kind of connection do you have? They worked fine for me. They are rather large though. I had to use the lowest jpg settings to get them below 500KB.[xx(]

LOL! That's hilarious! I love it!

But if I beat on him that would just prove that he makes a good paintball target/stress outlet. It wouldn't prove anything, really, about any of the stuff he's yellin' about. Sometimes it's just fun to nail somebody with a waterballoon. And if you just happen to be doing everyone else a favor at the same time then you're killin' two birds with one stone.[:D]

Yeah, messing with the guy would have gotten me in trouble... waterguns could have happened though. My roommate (who took the pictures) arranged "The Waterfight". We had 25 people meet in front of our dorm with waterguns at midnight to just go at it until there was no water left. The RA even joined in and designed the poster for it.[:D]

I have a teacher that asked me to show her class my lightsaber, this kills two birds with one stone as well. A bit young yet Strydur, but everyone in that class wanted one... i figure in a couple years they will remember where they first saw lightsabers outside of the tv screen

Yeah, having the bucket is like having a howitzer during those fights. Especially if you can get your hands on some ice water. My brothers and I used to pull pranks like dumping buckets of ice water on someone while they're in the shower. You get some interesting reactions from that.

Hey, man, give it a try! Don't give in to stinkin' thinkin.' Everyone has something cool to offer here! If you don't win then, oh well! In this case, winning is going to be pretty subjective anyway. I've just got to run down a camera and get up the gumption to make a fool of myself. If I can get the time, I plan on going to our local national guard armory and dressing as a jedi with my saber at the ready, and pose as if I'm getting ready to leap into battle with an army tank. I'll put the web address on my back or something. It won't look as pretty as some of the other guys, but it'll be fun.

here is an entry for me, a friend and i asked a random guy in the guitar store if we could take a picture of him and he agreed but we showed many people this sign all over town. have you ever walked through the mall with jedi clothes, a lightsaber and a cardboard sign on what would be a random day to everyone else? you get many questions and strange looks, but hopefully more business for tim.
