Ok, just wanting to know what designs are there for armor? I got some steel I can play with so I was thinking about doing an armored Jedi as an alternate costume for the Jedi Collective.

so, any ideas folks?

yeah, I did a search on Yahoo! but nothing really came up.

Besides, I want non-clone-ish armor anyway. And not really like Rom Kota's from the Force Unleashed either. More original designs.

That's why I asked for ideas. No need to be condescending.

Kota's was just mandalorian anyway wasnt it?

otherwise I think you gotta look into roleplaying books and comics

I don't see how that was particularly condescending, and google images pulled up a lot of interesting jedi armor patterns that don't look like clone armor or rahm kota. Maybe you should do what he suggested and take another look. If you don't see anything that suits you, you might try a more creative approach. Go to the library or check google images and look for some historical armor patterns, then see how you can modify them to make them look more sci-fi. Another route may be to go watch a few sci fi movies or tv shows and gather some ideas there. I always thought some of the costumes on the Stargate series were pretty interesting, but you could get inspiration anywhere you like. Bottom line though is that this is going to be YOUR armor, so it really should be YOU doing the legwork. Nobody knows what you will like better than you do. Hope that helps you get started.

Edit: Ok, so I didn't notice before when the caption said "Was that so hard?" but still, it wasn't bad advice.

As far as historical armor...I'm SCA (http://www.sca.org) So I have a decent amount of knowledge of such stuff and it's not what I'm looking for. But I'm just asking for some ideas not for people to do it for me.

Dear lord, I've been doing this since '99. (Yes, longer than most of you. I was on the original replica props forum, the ezboard version). So I have resources. Just ideas, that's all I ask.

sithlordfaust, no it's not mando. The breast plate is way differant.

TimeRender, I did an exaustive search in Yahoo, and I didn't come up with anything decent.

I'd say go look at the concept art for SW:TOR there's alot of good concepts there.

Been there, done that. Not what I'm really looking for.

It kinda came to me today, a new spin on mando armor but no cut plate. Not sure on actual design but that's the general look I'm gonna go for.

Thanks guys.

Hmm. Now who's being condescending? I'm always puzzled by people who "ask for ideas" here. Asking for ideas how to solve a technical problem makes perfect sense, but asking for creative ideas? Doesn't it sort of defeat the purpose of being, well, creative? It's hard to imagine what any of us might have offered that you would have been satisfied with.

I was just wanting to know what other ideas people had. I have already look at those and held no interest. Yes, my wording was a poor choice and I apologize.

As I stated before, I'm now thinking if trying to do a new take on mando armor for this project, no designs as of yet but 'll keep ya'll posted.

If you are looking for something original, why don't you make a pattern yourself. That's what I did with my chest armor. Draw it out on paper, then draw it to size, trace it, cut then paint. It's not too hard to do, just takes some practice.
