She's been good. But everyone neglected to tell us that babies sleep all day after being born, so we thought that she was just a really good, quiet baby. And we were up all day making phone calls and watching TV... Then came the witching hour...

At about 9:30ish that night (ironically the same time she was being born the night before) she woke up and introduced us to her blood curdling scream... All... Night... Long...

It's better now though, we take naps during the day to make up for the lack of sleep at night and we now know that she just likes to eat, All... Night... Long... So the screaming is not that bad.


It's been an interesting and cool few days, and unfortunately I have to go back to work tomorrow. But Friday is a day off and April vaca is in 2 weeks, so I just have to pull it together until then.


Oh, yeah... She has a full head of dark brown hair and she has dimples.

Congratulations!!!! What a wonderful thing!!!

My daughter is 19 months old now. My experience has been wonderful. At first it's a lot of late nights and stressed out mommy time. But as she gets older you will be able to help out more. My daughter just passed the stage of "baby" and is now much more of a little kid. She plays with us now, garbles out more complex requests, and seems to really understand what we tell her.

It's more fun all the time!

Here's a tip from one who has been there. Sleep when she sleeps. Sleep at every possible opportunity. If you have 15 minutes with nothing to do, catch a cat nap.

And know this: She will eventually sleep through the night. It will not last forever.

I have two girls and one boy (11, 6 & 2). My girls were great. My oldest slept through the night from day one, second almost as good about sleeping through the night but my boy was totally different and likes to give his momma fits (I think he is just too much like me ;) ).

Enjoy it because the old saying "they grow up fast" is so true. It seems like yesterday I brought my oldest home and now she is becoming a young lady.
