Whats the lux color do?

It changes the blade color. Unlike EL the color is determined by the LED you put in the hilt not the blade itself.

Some people use a white LED with colored disks or film, but that reduces the brightness.

You won't notice much difference between LEDs as far as brightness goes. It's not like with EL, where Lime looks amazing and Red looks horrible.

Lux is a rating of light intensity and is different depending on the color of the led and the rated power output such as 1 watt, 3 watt, 5 watt. Different colors are brighter than others but this can fool you when looking the ratings because the eye sees some colors better than others. Sometimes a lower lux rated led can appear to be brighter than a higher lux rated led of a different color. The color of the led is determined by the way the led is made.

Yeah, what Do-Clo said. It's also helpful to know that "Lux" is short for "Luminous Flux".
