A question about MHS IDs

I know that the MHS main hilt bodies have an inner diameter of 1.25".
I want to convert my LuxV to MHS, but I don't want to use the 9V 6AAA battery holder, it's just too long.
The 7.2V battery pack I'm using is 1.33", would it be possible to get a section of the hilt machined to fit the battery pack?
