Are there any tips on what pipe sizes work best together?

I went through all sink pipes and PVC at Lowes trying to find some that slid over/into each other with little room to spare. I couldn't seem to find a nice fit, either they wouldnt go in each other, or they were too loose.

Anyone havve any tips on widths, guages, what works with what with standard sink pipes and PVC, and how they get different size pipes to connect properly when building a saber with many different widths to it?

Thanks!

Expand your search in Lowes to the electrical section and into the area where they have the hardware in drawers. It really is just a matter of test fiting the pieces together. A good idea is to draw a rough picture of want you want your saber to look like then with that picture in mind start searching for the parts to fill it in.

...you'll still spend about 256 years doing it, though. The manager at my local Lowes offered to hire me. He said I know more about the products than his employees and I am there more than a full time hire with 25% overtime too.[:)]

Not many, not easy, but!

- Low pressure white PVC 160PSI fits nicely over 1.5 chrome sink pipe.
- 1.25 electrical conduit fits nicely over 1.25 copper piping - the only problem is you have to buy both in 10' sections and the copper is $30
- some copper reducers fit well inside electrical conduit
