Anyone know how to separate the speaker from the batt pack?

This is for the 3AA packs... not the 6AA--the 6AA come apart easily with a sort of "clip-on" system. The 3AAs seem to be melded on or fused on or whatever...

Once you remove the three screws at the top you can take an xacto knife and carefully cut the seams to seperate the battery pack.

There is a black ring that surrounds the base of the batterypack, and holds the chrome speaker grille in place. It is cemented on. It needs to be carefully pryed off. The speaker cover will come away with the ring. The the speaker can be lifted away from the battery pack.

There are three more screws underneath the speaker that need to be removed before the battery holders will come apart.

Thanks Umi I have not had to take a MR battery pack that far apart yet.

Thank you kindly! I hope this works... myself and my team are trying to convert some MRs, and we're basically cannabalizing the speakers, pommels, sound boards & clash sensors. The 3AA battery packs won't have enough juice, but 6AA is just a space hog, so we're trying to use 4 batteries. :)

I still think we're NUTS, but who knows... ;)
