I believe you are asking if the MR on/off slide switch will work instead of the switches Tim sells? The switch will work in place of a single pole single throw on/off switch, the led driver requires a monentary switch and the Hasbro sound board requires a monetary switch also so the MR switch would not work for these applications. You could use it with a direct setup such as a resister, led, battery and on/off switch. But with the low price of a switch I wouldn't bother with the MR switch there are easier switches to use.

The el saber uses a simple on/off switch like the MR so you can just use that one. No need to re-invent the wheel.[:D]

Sure, but the activation boxes and such are really cool on the MRs. I've been asking for TCSS activation boxes for a long time, but to no avail. Maybe I should start praying... lol.

Nightwing it couldn't hurt. [:D] I have found that door bell switch boxes make a cool activation box

How do they fit, exactly? I'd think they'd be made to fit on a flat surface...

Heck Yea Do-Clo! One of the first PVC sabers I made I used a door bell to give it the Vader look, and it doubles as a wonderful momentary switch for the stuff mentioned above. Thanks for jogging the memory completely forgot about that.

You can use the dremel to round the sides (well, I guess the top and bottom) to fit the pipe and the screw holes you can line up and tap the pipe and viola! switch box. When I used one on the PVC saber I also had nuts on the screws after they went through the pipe.

You can also put a piece of sand paper on a tube the same size as your hilt and use that to sand a curve in the bottom of the door bell box.

Relax guys... I was kidding... Sheesh... I guess you all missed the slew of smiley faces there. [;)]
EDIT-
Besides, I never actually USED a door bell box. It was just a random thought one day. And yeah, I'm sure that I'm not the first to have that thought, but I do know (now) that I'm definitely not the last. [;)][;)][;)]

Try looking on line at lowes or home depot they have different styles, I like the one with the long narrow push button best.

Devilstar2k2-Just wanted to make sure there were no hard feelings.
Nightwing-The bottom of the line builder-grade door bell button can be your best friend. Nice plastic that can be painted any way you want.

I have not starting keeping pictures of my sabers until recently so I don't have any with a door bell button but they really do look good.
Note to self use door bell button on upcoming sabers, did I just type that??? or think it???[:p]
