Probably a stupid suggestion, but have you sanded the tip and tube in the areas you intend to glue? If you don't sand it the glue has little or nothing to hold on to. It makes a difference.

Or find a glue that chemically bonds the 2 pieces together.

What I use came from a dollar store and it bonds/dries in about 30 seconds. It has the consistency and smell of CrazyGlue. None has come off yet, even in furious battle.

Well I have had the Tip's fall off both my 3/4" and 1" more than once now I have been using the Devcon Plastic Weld but it still happens sooner or later and it doesn't dry clear. I bought this Weld-on(see Pic) yesterday is this the right one? If not, Master Tim could you help me? I remember you mentioning that it was considered Hazardous and could not be shipped across state lines.[:)]

im not sure but that looks like the wrong one gforce. i got a can via tap plastics. and i think it says polycarbonates and acryllics on the label. i dont think it said pvc. you have to make sure it says weld-on 3 on the can.. mine does.

That cement is for pvc piping and will not work well on poly-c or acrylic either one. Try an on-line plastics company to get the glue that you need.

I suspected as much I guess there is more than one weld on product, I will have to check a local plastic shop and see if they have the right one. Thanks[:)]

weld on makes several different glues for different apps. the one you want says "for joining acrylic", on the front label.

Even when using the chemical bond type glue, the tip still breaks. It hapened to me several times. Alright, I admit, I hit the pavement with the tip, and it shatered. Acrylic is so much weaker than PolyC. Do they even make PolyC cabochons?

Ya know I came up with a REALLY great solution to this problem.
I bought extra tips and when they go flying I just glue another one on.[;)]
Tim uses a great adhesive and I use a pretty darn good product as well and it don't matter if you get those blades just right.

these are the poly c tips with the shouldered part that fits inside the poly c blade 1 inch right?

if so, i will definately get a few myself. in case a tip comes off i'll use the new ones and see how they work out.

im lucky so far, that last huge can of weld-on3 is still as full as the time i used it last 3 months or more ago. so i guess that first can i had just had a bad seal in it. it all evaporated on me. this one hasnt. so i got plenty of it to reglue tips on.

so next week then on tips?
