I was reading the led hilt tutorial and was woundering if that was a 1.5 or 1.25 sink tube? I want to put a blade in my saber(1.5 sink tube) and could not find a blade holder for the 1.5 sink tube other than the adaptor part for the MHS blade holder. I did not see one that looked like the one pictured.

the only blade holder for sink tube is the 1.25 holder http://www.thecustomsabershop.com/125-Sink-tube-LEDBlade-holder--P269.aspx

if you want to use 1.5, you'd need the adapter and a MHS holder

hope it helped

That is an old tutorial from before Strydur started machining the MHS parts to fit directly inside of the sink drain tubes. Deathblood2 is correct, of course, just use the MHS sinktube adaptor, and then you can use any of the MHS blade holders on your sinktube saber.

OK I have another question. I have received my MHS sink tube adapter and blade holder but I can not get the adapter to go inside the sink tube. I recall seeing someone post a thread for something similar but could not find it. Is there a different thickness of sink tube?

yes sink tubes come in different gauges. Generally, the ones Tim has on stock fit the MHS parts and the other pieces he sells. I made the same mistake as you and tried to use a 1.25 sinktube from my local store with the adapter in the store. Attempting to hammer it in did not yield good results. I probably should have tried filing the inside of the sink tube or something else.

Thanks, That was what I was thinking. It shows on the side of the tube 20 gauge. Would It get thinner as the gauge goes up or down?

20ga. is considered commercial grade, what you need is residential, 22ga. The MHS parts will not fit a 20ga. tube without machining them on the lathe. I've tried filing and sanding on one to get it to fit before, and it's more trouble than it's worth. For what a sinktube costs, you're better off taking the one you have back to the store and exchanging it for a 22ga. instead, or just buying another tube.

try getting the sinktube warm so that it expands and the mhs addapter cold so it contracts and stick them togeth when they are hot and cold.

Went to lowes and purchased the 22 gauge 1.5 sink tube and the MHS sink tube adapter fit perfectly. I should have two new sabers by the end of this weekend. Thanks for the help guys.
