This is an old saber, but I don't know if I've ever posted any pics of it here. I built it in 2002, before there was any LED saber technology out there, and it's all we had.

I used an EL kit from Light Tech Industries.

This is a sink tube saber with a "beefed up" PVC blade holder and PVC emitter shroud and grips. It's got finish washers under the 4 screws that press on the blade holder, with spring nuts on the inside. I have done some light dueling with it in the past.

The 3 black "buttons" mid hilt are screw covers that hide the screws that are holding the guts. The blade connector and inverter are held in place inside more PVC that the blade holder is connected to.

Not long after this build, I started figuring out how to make my own EL blades, and the rest is history.

If you've been in the lightsaber community long enough, you know what I mean by that.

Or maybe you've just heard about me, when I used to be "famous" for that. ;)

Thanks!

Not bad for 6 years ago, if I do say so myself. ;)

Back before you started the EL Saber phenomenon

I've always liked the grips on that saber. I can only imagine what your dremel-fu is like now :p

Well, I haven't done much fancy stuff with a Dremel since then.

Especially now that I build simple MHS sabers. I've never made a shroud for one.

Yet.

Though I think maybe my Dremel skill may have atrophied a bit over the years, though. :-|

Nice looking saber Lori, maybe it is time for you to build a updated led mhs based saber like that????

Lori, do you have a CF? I've wondered that, recently...

Anyhow--I could totally see you being the "Queen" or "Empress" of mixing EL + LED to make some stellar stuff. I don't mean EL in the blade necessarily, but more like... some pretty pimped out detailing all about the hilt or whatever.
