Can I use a SPST Momentary tactile as the main on off switch with an FX sound board?

I have searched the forum and have found mixed responces.

Technically, it depends on what you are calling an FX soundboard.

The MR FX (High end) soundboards use latching switches.
The Hasbro (cheap toy) soundboards use momentary
