It shouldn't be too hard for a machinist to do. The trickiest bit would be the pommel.

Parks sells a radiator that could be used for the pommel.

Hi guys I'm new here, i've been looking for a pommel just like that for my saber project that I'm starting. So I must ask what is this "parks" that you speak of? Thanks and sorry if it's a Noob question.

Plo koon's lightsaber is a "Clan" lightsaber. Meaning, many jedi carry THAT style of lightsaber, Meaning, that some people should have constructed some of those types of lightsabers, meaning, they should be relativley easy to find as far as parts. http://www.nocturnearmory.com/MovieSabers/moviesabers2.html Take a look at Kit Fisto's.

Actually only few members have that saber and they were members of the jedi council.

who do you think makes the best?

You can't just say that only ONE person/company makes the best sabers.

that's like asking who paints the best paintings, it's a valid question but it has no quantifiable answer...

Well I guess we have Tim, Madcow, Acerocket, ect...
Lathes are REALLY expensive! (last time I checked anyways!) Maybe on craigslist or something... But anyway... really nice saber!

thank you, but im probly going to do another one, didnt come out exactly how i wanted it to...

now lathes in general are expensive. Especially in Canada because the companies in my area buys them from the states so theres like a double fee.Luckly i grew up right on the BC/Washington st border so i just drove down to Spokane which was like an 1 and a half hr drive which isnt bad at all.

The only problem i ran into is almost running out of gas because the gas station i usually go to wasn't to happy about Canada not joining the war in Iraq so there was a big sign saying "we dont not serve CANADIANS. and all i had was Canadian money so haha couldnt really sneak around that and almost ran out of gas..

there are mini lathes that are cheaper altenatives and perfect for saber making and other things of that size

heres where i got mine
http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/Displayitem.taf?itemnumber=93799

also got my Mill from there also
http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/Displayitem.taf?itemnumber=47158

this company is the best ive ever dealt with heres so examples
- 1year replacement warranty
-free parts for one year from the company
-they actually sent me a brand new one to Canada for free! just cause mine got slightly damaged in shipping.

-fair prices, always having sales, great customer service

NOTE: No matter if you have a lathe or not remember that tim uses a CNC lathe so he most likely the most accurate for custom pieces and such. Not to knock other lathers at all im just saying that my experience still needs to come along way...
