So, for my costume I made a blaster and holster. I started out trying to do a Han Solo DL44, but I figured a force user that was going to use a pistol wouldn't need a scope and would probably prefer a more toned down gun, hence the "J" designation (J for jedi, was thinking possibly Lt. for light model). I stated with an "off brand" airsoft mauser I got for 20bucks, a $5 shower head from lowes and the Yoda activation box from my 616 kit. I made the holster myself, without a pattern, with scraps leftover from pirate boot spats from party city. I wanted it to be more like Han's gun belt, but ran out of material, and since it was free to construct the holster, I decided to hold off on improving it till after halloween. Once I redo the holster, I will try to post a printable pattern and materials list for anyone interested. It was really easy(as long as you have a sewing machine and can sew straight lines and mellow curves and have patience) and vinyl is really easy to sew. Well, enjoy.

sorry they are side ways.

Not bad for a first holster. (and one made of vinyl :p [I prefer leather, myself])

That's an interesting use for a saber activation box, looks good on the blaster. I also like the way the shower head looks for a barrel shroud.

What are those roundish pouchlike things on your belt behind the blaster?

Great Blaster! I love it! Han's was always my favorite of the hand guns! I would love to see a Boba Fett rifle, though.:p

FYI...star wars lasers and blaster make this sound:
ptchooo.....ptchooo......

which punch things? on the blaster or the ones holding the holster on the belt. the one holding the holster are just small screws and washers, they just look interesting because they are out of focus. the ones are the gun are some weird little metal buttons I bought at a flea market. I have no idea what they are originally used for. I am pretty happy the way it turned out for a first attempt. I think I will try to make one out of leather eventually, probably after I figure out a good pattern.

Yes, I said POUCH, not punch. "Punch" doesn't even make any sense that context.

I know those were screws and washers holding your holster onto your belt, I'm not an idiot.

I used to be an ATM Technician for BofA years ago. I learned a lot about tools and hardware doing that job, it was very mechanical. I could tear apart, and completely rebuild an ATM from the ground up, including every part that was in each of the various subassemblies. And train other people to do it.

I probably know more about hardware than a lot of the guys on these boards do. :p

ooh, it does say pouch, apparently I am an idiot...sorry... They are prada sunglass cases, a fancy belt pouch for well to do force users..lol.. but really, my girlfriend used to manage a Sunglass hut and those were all the cases that didn't match up to a pair of glasses from people buying nicer cases with their expensive sunglass.

J-Lo, you have better electronics/hardware knowledge that nearly anyone here regardless of gender and I don't see how anyone could possibly believe that gender could hinder the development of said knowledge base in any way...

(wow, that is one looong sentence!)

I don't remember the brand of shower head, and it is not on the web site either. I do remember it was on the very bottom shelf in the shower head display wall. It is a low flow shower head, so if you have trouble finding one, there is this one too which I considered before I just happened across the one I purchased

looks cool. You could probably make a scope out of it somehow too.

I thought about making a scope, using pvc and so on, because it would be easy, but it would cost about twenty bucks to build, and for $17 you can just buy one with the mounting rail and rings at Gander mountain. That may still happen for the next costume.

Really? I just went to the Gander Mountain website to check it out and didn't see an scopes by themselves that cheap, let alone in a package with rings and a mount. Where did you see that?

I checked online and didn't find them, but in the store they had some. The scopes were actually only $8.99 with the rings and rails were anywhere from 4.99 ea for the little tiny ones up to whatever you would want to pay for them. They were little cheapy tasco if I remember correctly. they were this style:

I think it may have even been the same one. The bass pro shop hear also had them for 9.99 with the airsoft guns. It does seem a little long, and if you are going for just aesthetics, it can probably be easily cut shorter with a pipe cutter, but that will throw off the focal calibration, but if you do find it at that price, who cares really. I think it is maybe an inch or 2 longer than this one:

maybe I will pick one up this week and post it if I can still find them.
