Could someone please list for me the pros and cons of both saber types? I know the EL has a uniform glow but isn't as bright, but besides that I really haven't heard alot.

I would say the main differences that matter are.
Blade thickness - 1" led...3/4" EL typically
Uniform glow - EL has it..LED doesnt
Brightness - For the most part LED is brighter, you can get close with some colors.

another pro of el would be the ability to easily change blade colors. with led, you have to make a new hilt or put a new led in the hilt. with el, you just need another blade.

I would have mentioned that except with a white LED you can use colored film to change the color.

I'd also say that LED's are more dualable because it's just a tube. At least the 1 LED setup the CSS sells is. The MR sabers are many LEDs in strips up and down the tube opposed to CSS's 1 LED setup.
Films can change the color of a white LED but it lowers the brightness a lot.

They are both about the same durable wise. I have never had a customer say his EL blade went bad.

What about cost? Wouldn't EL be more expensive than LED?

I know that MR blades are fragile because one good wack could take out a bank of 10 lights, but how durable is EL?
Is that your lightsaber or are you happy to see me?

It's been discussed but EL is as good as the solder joint you make at the mono plug. It fixable should you get a little zealous too so no worries.[:D]

How long does a fresh set of 4AA or 4AAA batteries last in a LED hilt with a Hasbro board?

i dont know yet, i havent had mine on that long. usually just to show it off to someone. but in a led the 4 aa or aaa packs should last a few hours at least. and the 9 v for the el will actually run down a lil quicker i think. that inverter pulls more draw on the batt. strydur can tell you for sure, im kinda guessing here.
You dont know the POWER, of the dark side...
