Shockingly, is not a saber, but a Holoprojector

Made from a selector ring from a showerhead, some acrylic, parchment paper, momentary switch, and a color change LED votive "candle".

Pretty cool Arkai! I suppose with enough light coming from the thing, you could illuminate an object above it...

Cool! Add some wire coils to that and you'd have Ironman's chest Arc Reacter!

That thing is cool. It looks pretty big. What exact materials did you use to make it? Not that I plan on stealing your ideas, I just need to build one for my costume...non functional.

Now you just need a laser strong enough to ionize the air above it ;)

I made it with the selector ring from a broken massage shower head (waterpic i think). Ive had that piece for abotu a year or so, so it's hard to say. The votive is from party city, it's here (http://www.partycity.com/cgi-bin/parties/decorations.cgi?thepartytype=&name=Rainbow%20Colored%20Votive%20Flicker%20Lights&parties=Halloween&productstype=Candles&products=177925&zoom=1&start=&originaltype=Decorations). Just cracked it open soldered on a new switch (this one (http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2062546&cp=2032058.2032230.2032278&numProdsPerPage=100&fbx=0&y=8&x=1&pg=1&fbn=Type%2FSPST&fr=StorePrice%2FRSK%2F00000000%2F00000399&fbc=1&f=PAD%2FProduct+Type%2FSPST&allCount=91&retainProdsInSession=1&parentPage=family)) and drilled a small hole on the side for the switch. Then used my FIL's laser to cut some scrap acrylic (three pieces) for the back plate, the lens and the grid. I just glued some parchment paper to the back of the lense to difuse it some. I might go back and put a lux 1 in it. The votive i used is actually pretty bright, and I like the fact that it changes color (and runs on REALLY small batteries)

and actually not, it's not THAT big I just have small hands, here's a better pic. It's about the same size as the buble tape ones that some folks make.

Not everyone here is Darkside, like you are.

I have a Ki-Adi Mundi holographic figure, for when I finally decide to make one of these. :)
