Well after several weeks of work, several grab bags and small orders, and a few tweeks here and there (understatement) I finally have my families lightsabers done. Next step is to work on the jedi outfits. Guess I am determined to win our anual Halloween parties costume contest. Plus when my wife put me in charge of the costums that was my chance to finally make my lightsabers I have been waiting to do.

So here they are...

First is my workshop  fun

My saber. Yea it is a bit long but I am 6'8" and have big hands so it fits me.

My wifes saber.

My four year old Treis saber.

My 15mth old Barons saber. (who says 15 mth olds shouldn't have lightsabers). He does have a unique fighting form.

All of them together...

And my leftovers that I don't know what to do with...

...Probably need to place another order soon to get 2 blade holder style 12 for my Sith blades. You can't have 4 Jedi sabers and no Sith ones right. At least thats what I will tell my wife.;)

What do you all think. I'll post some pics when the costumes are done as well.

Thanks all.

I actually exclaimed: "Oh my gawd!" when I saw your first picture... that's a lot of parts...

Also, I"m diggin your wife's saber, that's a cool shroud - it reminds me of Batman Forever for the cool costume design. I've never gotten into shrouds, but I think I might try that. :)

Good stuff, man. Keep it up!

EDIT: why do the first two have two switches?

Thanks.

The first three have switches for the sound. (Treis saber the switches are on the opisit side on the ribbed section, which actual worked nice because it was a v cut section mising one row of the v's Put the switchs right in line there.)

I just decided to do it that way rather than run the LED off the boards because it seemed to work better than anything else I tried with the Hasbro boards I had.

That's a good idea, especially with kids :)

The gold is just a metalic chrome gold spray paint from Home Depot. It has a picture frame on the can. It turned out ok but not as bright as I wanted on the PVC on my wifes saber. It will due though.

EDIT: On second look, I noticed you put a switch in a thin neck  How in the name of the Force did you do that?!

I drilled the switch hole and had to due a little sanding on the switch so that on corner was a little more rounded. Worked like a charm.

Great work, Bigbret! Always a pleasure to see Luxeon-style hand-made sabers in the hands of kids... I'm certain your kids are ecstatic! :)

I would love to get my hands on some of your spare parts LOL. I know join the club right?

Man you got lucky with those grab bags. All I ever got were mostly choke points and ANH conversion blade holders.
