Figured I'd post this here, since it isn't finished yet.

An extremely simple hilt; just slapped it together over the weekend with a little help from a Dremel.

It has (or will have):

1.25" Sinktube blade holder from TCSS
recessed DPDT switch from TCSS
1000 mA Buck Puck
Seoul P4 white
7.2 volt, 800 mAh Li-Ion pack (from TCSS)

Overall Length: 9"

nice hilt! i like prop building kinda stuff and i want to build just some nice looking hilts for display. sink tube and PVC are a nice cheap way to go to do that. although i think i might make a couple just hilts outa the MHS

You gonna paint the polywashers?

I would certainly like to. However, I don't know what type of paint to use. I do have an automotive vinyl interior paint, but it might crack and split once applied.

lots of primer and patience. The nice thing is if you paint the poly washers on the inside too, you wont notice chips and cracks so much, but they are inevitable. very nice work, clean and elegant.

UPDATE:

Well, I haven't had any time to work on the above hilt (midterm week :().

BUT I have had time to quickly finish up another simple saber: my sister's
pink saber ( /sigh/ why is it always pink?? hmm??).

Here we go:

Flash On in a lit room:

Flash Off in the same lit room:

Flash Off with lights Off:

Close up shot (the far left of the pic shows the true color of the blade):

This saber is just an MHS hilt all the way, and houses a Seoul P4 white LED
over-driven to 1.4 amps through 2 700 mA Buckpucks, with a 7.2 volt, 800 mAh
Li-Ion pack from the store.

The blade is thinwalled, and is 35" long overall. It houses a double wrap of Corbin film,
and 4 feet of polypropylene. It is very even in person.

The only issue with this saber is that the lens floats around inside the hilt a little bit. I'll have to open it up later and see whether the lens popped off its holder or not; more than
likely its just that the lens system has room to move, which means I'll probably have to stick in a cardboard spacer, or something...

PINK can be manly, too! HA HA!
