I got the luxeon III, the blade, battery holder, lens holder, lens, and the buckpuck 1000ma. I'm not 100% sure how to wire it in to the circuit with the battery and the switch. I assume its just hooking up the negatives to the negatives and the positives to the positives, but that's why I'm asking. Thank You

Thats basically it..then put the switch someplace between the battery and the puck either on the neg or pos line..it doesnt matter which.

I noticed on the buckpuck that there is LED + and -, CTL, REF, and Vin + and -. Which ones would you hook up to the led? I assume the LED but would you hook up the Luxeon to the LCD +- and connect to the circuit with the Vin + and -. Also can you use CTL and REF to hook up the switch? I know its for a potentiometer but could you put a switch instead?

best do as Strydur said, the ctrl wires most of us clip off and dont use. the rest is pretty simple.

Okay, so should I use the led wires or the vin wires on the buckpuck, or both? I wasn't sure if you use the positive and negative LED wires on the buckpuck for the LED and hook the VIN positive and negative into the circuit for the power and the switch? Basically I'm still not sure if I use one set of wires in the circuit from the buckpuck or two sets (Vin and Led). Thank you for all the help so far!

Thank you very much! I feel horribly inadequate now, haha.

Don't.

The only ways to learn are to ask questions of those who know... and to experiment yourself. So--you're doing both just fine.

As always... the only two ways to learn are: experience & enlightenment... :)

Any harm in putting the switch between the buck puck and the LED on +?
Because that is where I put mine.

(Wasn't this answered somewhere else today?)

That's no good. If you put the switch on the output side, there will always be power to the puck. Even though there's nothing getting to the LED, the puck will drain your batteries.

Concurring with Obi-D on that one... Vargos, you don't want it that way--unless you're always removing the batteries after use! :)
