Well first off, I want to warn everyone to NOT cut the leads to the Battery holder realy short to try and make a clean wiring job. Now I have to completely disassemble my saber to change the batteries!

I was able to get the Hasbro speaker into the end of the Style I hilt by sanding off the outer portion of the speaker. But it doesn’t go any farther than the end of the treads, so I’m going to put some O-rings on it to fill in the gap.

I did blow the fuse on the Sound Board, but I bypassed it.

I did not run the LED off of the S.B. though… And no clash (It was a horrid clash anyways! It sounded more like Maracas!) I wasn’t sure if I needed the second circuit board to run the LED, or if it was going to fit, and I ripped the wires off of it anyways disassembling it. So I have the LED and the S.B. running in parallel with the switch. I just have to bump the switch to get it to shut off. Or turn back on after it shuts off automatically.

Thank you. But it's all Tim. I just assembled it.

I'm going to add the decorations to it later when I have a better idea of what I want to do. I think I'm going to get the Helix shroud in the store for starters.

Don't worry about building the saber multiple times. I think we all have. I did mine three times before I finally got it to my liking! Lots of soldering, re-soldering, and electrical tape (the fix-all in lightsabers!). I bought a smaller speaker from Radio Shack so that it fits totally inside and the sound isn't hut by it at all. I have a question though, I put the board and all the trimmins inside a film cannister then had the battery holder past that and the speaker on the end, I'm sure like yours. But whenever I go to get the battery pack out, the speaker soldering comes undone! Anyway to secure that stupid thing to something?[:D]

Yeah unfortunatly it seems that you have to periodically take it upart for service, my Current Led with both Boards(Sound,Led Driver) and Force Resonater was working fine but all of a sudden when installing new Batteries last weekend at Grand Slam Sound went AWOL. I hope it is just a loose connection or the Speaker Died since the Force Resonater still works and it is powered off the Sound Board Negative Out, well time to take it back apart.[:(]

Mur-Pa,
When I put my sound board in film canister/ battery pack/ speaker unit together I over did all the solder points with hot glue. I put a few drops of hot glue on all the solder points and wiring to strengthen it and hold all of the wires in place. I also did this on the speaker, hot glue over solder, then to wires, then wire to wire holding everything together as one piece. It has already paid off more times than I can count. When the wires get tugged on it pulls on the glue instead of the solder points and prevents them from breaking. I did this on every solder point within the saber and it pays off, try it and see what you think...
