Here is an Anakin conversion using the existing parts.
After disassembling the saber, I pull out the blade stop and cut it down so that the lens face will be flush, or just below the top.
In this Image I have also slotted some corners into the bottom side to fit the LED. In this case, a StarO white.

Here you can see the base of the StarO LED ground down at the corners and fitted to the blade stop. And also ground/filed to pass the wiring.

The heat sink has been slotted on the band saw, and filed down to pass the wires back to the PCB

The LED has been wired and the heat sink has been epoxied into place using "arctic silver" thermal adhesive.

After pushing the LED and heat sink back into the stock mount, I drilled down through the mount, and the heat sink. The 1/8" brass rod will pin the whole assembly in place.

All the wiring is then soldered together and tested.
This was done as Strydur shows in the Darth Vader tutorial, except that I put the resistor between the LED, and the shock sensor(blue and purple wires)

Once certain everything works, the whole saber is reassembled and finished.

This saber will probably be disassembled again, and all the parts put into a custom hilt for my nephew's birthday.
So, Three sabers built, and I have yet to build one for myself.[xx(]
If there is any kind of plan, I think there will be three(3watt) for myself by the time I am done. [;)]
[edit]guess I should put a mirror in the blade...[:p]
