I love the look of Jedi in armor, and have since I first saw Tales of the Jedi. That's my favorite era, long before the Jedi got complacent and wore armor and held their sabers in sheathes like weapons. Not dangling like keys or clipped like a cell phone. :p

This is what I wore the rest of the time. This is me with Darth Maliss. Cannot get a good look at the costume, but will have better pictures soon. Just wanted to show off because I liked the pictures.

Koda is that you? if so I saw you at DC kinda talked to you a bit asking who you were (until i read the forced unleashed book :P)

Also saw Darth Maliss me and him chilled a bit

Maliss was a very cool guy. How did your skit go Koda? I didn't get to make it...

Yeah he was. Nice considering how evil he looked...

chase
09-12-2008, 01:15 PM
He defenately had the "Sith" look down. Very good poses. One of the best I've seen actually. A lot of people have a Sith costume, but they rarely have the "look".

Mazarill Slay
09-12-2008, 01:30 PM
Yeah mine wasn't done completely so I looked bad.. lol

09-13-2008, 08:55 AM
If I saw a picture of you...I think we could all give an opinion on how you looked. I believe I saw you around...black and gray colors with a double bladed saber, right?

Hehe, so I'm not the only one who couldn't resist rotoscoping that picture :D

LordMasoch
09-14-2008, 10:08 AM
I'm not extremely happy with the way it turned out, but that's because of the giant white hole in the center of the picture. :P

Angelus Lupus
09-14-2008, 11:29 AM
Yeah, my usual 2 minute technique in Paint Shop Pro didn't work because of that, so I used GIMP with lightsabre rotoscoping plugin:

Sweet job there Angelus!

Angelus Lupus
09-14-2008, 03:50 PM
Thanks DD, I think the finishing touch was roto-ing a small circle where the sabers meet and using the plugin's flare option to get a nice clash (that subtle ring of light you can see there).

EDIT: Hmm, seems like I missed out the lens flare, I'm updating the image link. I think It's better wth the flare, what do you think?

09-15-2008, 01:36 PM
Oh ok! I believe I saw you around. I remember the mask...

Thanks for the rotos fellas. I got someone on the force-fx site to do one for me too. I like the ones you guys did better...shh don't tell anyone I said that. Those guys tend to put too much flare on the sabers.

Green saber for me btw...I know you didn't know...just informing! Haha!

Go to the rebreathers. You can get them in different colors and since they are latex, they are nice to the skin. Those things are awesome.

I saw all of you guys there are Dragon*Con, awesome costumes. I was one of the few black Jedi there on friday night, had a green K2 sinktube saber. If anyone remembers seeing a black Nero(from Devil May Cry 4), that was me. Mazarill Slay, I believe I was talking to you about your lightsaber in the lobby of the Hyatt.

chase
09-16-2008, 06:44 AM
I talked to a few people about my lightsaber actually...There were so many people there that the senses go on overload at times. A black Nero though...should have remembered that...

A paintball mask couldn't be much more expensive....

depends what make of paintball mask, they vary from about £20-£60 and they are all very different, some are hard and some are soft, some you can breath in some you cannot...

Mazarill Slay

The one I have cost like $15 it is a flexible hard plastic.

But I am very much so considering buying the smaller latex rebreather....

Here is my latest armoured Jedi, a custom Jedi General in Clone Wars armour. The first pic was from the promotional advanced viewing of The Clone Wars movie (a week before official release). The second pic is from the official release day of the movie. That day, I decided not to wear my latest lightsaber holster again (as seen in the first pic). Unfortunately, the third pic barely shows the pain-staking battle-damage and scoring that I applied the day before the official release. :(

Where did you get the gauntlets? Those are sweet. I ordered some vinyl stickers like yours, but they didn't arrive in time to put them on the shoulder pieces.

Very nice indeed.

I still have to get used to having an official Jedi symbol. We didn't have anything of the sort for so long, now to have one ret-conned in is kinda jarring.
At least it's a good looking logo.

I designed and made them myself, from 3mm sintra.

Oh, and that's not a sticker logo! Masking paint job. Up close it actually turned out to have some neat weather/wear effects around the edges when I was finished.

What kind of boots are those Terek?

I ordered those from Carlos Diaz on eBay. They are Capt. Malcom Reynolds (Firefly/Serenity) replicas. I understand that since I bought them 1.5 years ago, Carlos has nearly doubled his prices, almost matching Motor Cowboy. :(

You could easily do that with a dirtbike chest protector, just would have to do some apoxy work

Imperial Knight armor, painted grey?

Btw, which Jedi have been seen wear armor (apart from the Imperial Knights) ?
I can count:
- Obi-Wan Kenobi
- Anakin Skywalker
- Plo Koon
- Rahm Kota

Any more?

Check it out.

You can also buy sheets of PVC sentra for armor. I've drawn out designs and cut and shaped it with a dremel. Not too hard to do, just takes some practice.
