Ceramic coating

Has anyone ever tried ceramic coating on their hilt? What are the pros and cons?

well I don't think you can do it with MHS parts, in order to get the clay to turn into what we'd call ceramic, you have to fire it in a kiln, it tends to shrink when you do this, I think If you tried it'd just crack very badly all over the place.

the aluminum would probably melt too. I am always on the hunt for ceramic coated parts for the inside though. A spark plug is the only cheap thing I have found.

There are ceramic coatings used in automotive exhaust applications that may be applicable, but I'm no expert.
