because the MR blades are JUNK compared to the thin-walled blades found with Tim.

MAKE NO MISTAKE:

The MR thin-walled blades are NOTHING like the ones Tim carries. Tim's are much better and I'm not just saying that.

Anyway who gives a rat's rectal pucker about the blades anyhow since they'll just get dumped and changed out. All *WE* care about is... do they produce sound? Good--then they'll produce light too. :)

Me, I already have PLENTY of sound sabers in the midst of construction, so... I'll forestall any bidding for some months!! Hopefully for some YEARS!! :)

8, eh? I lost my taste for MR when I got my first CF... now they're just mopeds to me...

If I had the extra cash, this would be tempting. Maybe later on I'll look into a lot like this for future sabers.

one thing I am considering is upgrading my MR's, thing is it is gonna cost me a packet, I have 8 of the bloody things, lolIf you do them yourself, it shouldn't be too bad:

* 8 blades (do your own tips, blade film) = ~$80 to $100
* 8 holders + sinks = ~$160 to $200
* 8 LEDs = ~$64 to $80
* TOTAL = ~$304 to $380

Wiring you do yourself. That may sound like a lot of cash to throw down, but the price is pretty tame when you are considering EIGHT sabers to do.

I ought to know--I've got 7 of the 616s that will be turned into something much nicer (for BOP III), and most all will use the 1.25" blade holders Tim makes.

coulda been the saber fight at burning man, I heard that they had a bunch of people go to town with MR's and most of them were probably high as a kite at the time, though like nova said who cares? it's the soundcard most of us is interested in...

Yeah... MR blades. The person still should have backed off. For all the crap MR's get about being fragile the blades should blemish before the break that badly.

According to the seller: "These are leftovers from lots of retail liquidations..."

I have a few friends in retail and from talking to them they tell me that returned/damaged items, items that are received as broken and items broken in the store are often shipped to a central location where they are liquidated for pennies on the dollar. That sounds like what this is or possibly someone who works for the store and paid just a few dollars for them.

ya know what i'm not gonna lie i've beaten my MR's to this point and well I don't have the money to upgrade them cause I decided to go Lux up a custom with a CF and well getting that all done has made me a poor man some day those MR's will become luxeon. ONly issue i have is that well WTF! IDK!
