This a 1" polycarbonate tube with TCSS diffuser and lit by 7 standard uV leds, this was just a test to see what it would look like not bad over all http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f217/Do-Clo/IM000012.jpg

Yet another BYB saber, I have always thought this style would make a cool purple saber. It is a 3 watt luxeon with a 1000 ma buckpuck led driver and a 40 inch polycarbonater blade with Tims blade diffuser.

I finished my new saber this afternoon it is a one that I have been building for myself. It has a MR FX sound board and one of Corbins LED drivers driving the led. It has a Ultra sabers fiber optic blade.

I've been trying different combinations of purple. 4 AAA,TCSS electronics kit, TCSS Battle Blade.
First, a Lux 3 UV Star:

This is a 3/4", 30" long blade with a meter of polypropylene film and semi-reflective mylar on the tip. I'm using a white K2 with the two "most purple" filters from the TCSS 11-disk set, powered with 3aaa 1000mA Ni-MH batteries and a 1999 Hasbro Qui-Gon board. I wish it was brighter, but I'm happy with the color. To me eyes, it looks very close to the purple of Mace's saber in the movies.

Compared with an unmodified Hasbro FX Obi-Wan and my color-changing saber (using aLedEngin RGGB, here with red and green turned on).
EDIT: Doh. After recharging it, the saber is actually somewhat brighter than I first thought.

When I got home today I did an experiment. I took a Magenta and cyan disks.
http://i366.photobucket.com/albums/oo105/ari-jaq_xulden/trilux/IMG00079.jpg
I ran lux III white direct from the battery, added the disks and got this.

The first Brazilian lightpike ever built. A rather improvised prototype with a white LuxIII and one dark purple TCSS coloured disc whose proper name I don't know (apologies).
It is about 6 feet long and runs on a 4 AAA (1,5v) pack; no drivers, no sound, just a resistor.
I am particularly displeased with its dim colour and I plan on using 2 coloured discs in my next purple blade (a 36-inch-bladed saber).

Left is an LedEngin RGBA off a 7.4 pack run in series through a PC2.0 board, thick TCSS battle blade, no diffuser and 6-8 ft. of giftwrap. Right is a DX RGB off a 6v 4AAA setup in parallel through an Obi econo board and a trans white thick wall blade. Both have 8.7 degree lenses. The clear blade mixes color much better than the trans white, though the pics don't show a whole lot of difference.

Does anyone have experience using a Tri-Rebel to get purple? If so what electronics setup would you use for a stunt blade?
Thanks,
Osameshar

Tri-Rebel w/ Royal Blue and Red, in a Saberforge blade. Need a stronger resistor for red. Right now it's a janky, bad setup that I won't show a picture of for pride's sake.
