Bad Bulb?

I had ordered some stuff for a friend of mine and when assembling it for her, the LED would cut off when the lens & holder just barely touch it. Would this be a bad bulb or some other issue? I have never seen this before. I believe she got the LuxIII green. I'll have to look at it again to see which one it is exactly.

Anyone ever heard of this before?

I've had this happen to me on a K2 led. It was in my converted RLSA saber, and the blade in that one butts up against the lens, so every impact would vibrate through the lens into the led. Eventually, the dome came loose, and now that led works only when the dome is pushed a certain direction. I had to change it out, of course.

I hadn't even made it to the blade....it was this way as soon as I put the collimator and holder on it :-(

EDIT: Just verified, this was a K2 also.
