3/4 Blade Brightness.

Yet again I need to call upon the vast array of knowledge and experience that unite all of us in our saber building obsession, I mean hobby.
I am about to start building Saber number two. Sith Saber, 1.25 sinktube, MR Vader sound running a red LuxIII. I really like the idea of a thinner blade to match the thinner hilt the 1.25 sinktube will offer. I have read in some of the threads that they are not as bright as the 1". Any of you guys running a combo like this who could give me any idea of what it is like? Advice would be much appreciated. Thanks.

They may not be quite as bright as a 1" thin-walled blade, but 3/4" blades can be pretty bright:

That's a red/o Lux III resistored set up and the blade is a 3/4" x 34" thin-wall with a double wrap of Corbin film and about 6 feet of cellophane/polypropylene.

That's a blue Lux III MR board driven. The blade is a thin-walled 3/4" with a roll of Ultrafilm installed.

Both of those sabers use 5 degree lenses, too. The other 3/4" blade I have is green:

That was a green K2, MR Vader board driven, with a cut down 5 dgree optic so it would fit inside the blade. (long story, but it was necessary because of the sabers design). It also had a roll of Ultrafilm installed at the time the picture was taken. Both the green and blue blades now have the combo of the Corbin/Ultra film. They're plenty bright enough for me, even though they do get visibly dim near the blade tip. That's mostly because of the reflective diffuser material I use on the blade tips. It's not that reflective, but allows the tip to light up as bright as the blade does.

this may seem like a silly question but what is the best wrap combo for the blade. I got TCSS diffuser film that I am planning on using in conjunction with cello wrap. I am thinking a layer of TCSS film and a couple of layers of cello wrap under (towards the center of the blade) that. Is it better to have the cello wrap as the outer layer? How many wraps of each is optimal?

What I've found seems to look the best to me is a single layer (wrap) of Corbin's film with a another layer of about 5-6 feet of cellophane gift wrap rolled up inside that. Always use the Corbin film on the outside if you plan on using a dual-film blade. Putting it inside the cellophane defeats the purpose of the Corbin film.

Nothing. Same thing. Tim (TCSS) bought out Corbin (Corbin's Components) a while ago so now you can get the same film here.
